I have just been reading this thread (rlforums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t) on another forum where our aussie friends are complaining about the NRL ripping fans of for the price of merchandise but do you think the same happens over here.
I know my shirt cost me £40 this year which is a lot but if you have a family you will be looking around £140 quid which is a hell of a lot especially at the moment.
Do any clubs run any special promotions for members/season ticket holders etc.'" £50 for a 2010 home shirt and season ticket at the buffaloes

| At least with the NRL shirts the design is kept for 3 years, so if you buy a shirt when its released you've got 3 years of it being up to date,
Unfortunately for me I've bought Warriors 02, Dragons 05, and Storm 09 in the last year of use,

| RL is an expensive habit for families compared to other forms of entertainment.
£21.40 for a family ticket to the local cinema
£28- £108 Family to sale sharks ( they have a wide ticketing model)
£32.00 family ticket wrestling at Theatre royal
£41- 55 family ticket chester zoo
£62-68 Camelot Theme park
£64 for equivalent to watch Saints
It certainly gets a lot cheaper if you get season tickets but that's a lot of commitment.
RL can be a cheaper habit for families compared to football and other live events
£40-120 Wigan
£100 - 120 Liverpool FC
Arena Concerts £100 - 200+
I don't feel ripped off BUT it is noticeable that their are less families in RL and less younger fans not only because of pricing but also evening fixtures. The fact that a number of your teams games are on SKY doesn't help either.
And we haven't even started on Home entertainment
I would like to see more imaginative pricing and more one off reductions to boost attendances and ongoing fan support.
There should also be more incentive & reward for season ticket holders as well they deserve better than a reduced ticket price, few quid off merchandise and priority for cup games for their continued loyalty and outlay in difficult times.

| Season ticket holders get 10% off at the Oneills shop in Widnes. Tops are usually around the £40 mark so that doesnt bother me.

| Biggest rip off is Sky TV. I don't subscribe and never will unless it gets an awful lot cheaper to watch RL or they introduce PPV for games.

| £20 for some games just isn’t common sense.
Not when you can have a good night out on the town for less.

Freebies and hustling my friend.
One night I went out with £20 and came home with £24 thanks to a bit of the old ticket touting. Another night I was sipping either Laurent Perrier or Dom Perignon for free. Can't remeber which one because I was too busy having the rare chance of living it up!

| On a more serious note a majority of long term season ticket holders are ripped off when people can obtain free tickets for a majority of matches when their simply just know someone at the club whenever its a player or backroom staff.
Whilst I agree with corporate ticketing. I find getting tickets off the club because your a friend or a relative pretty wrong when a majority have to fork out a lot (to them) to watch a rugby league match.
I doubt its a big problem though it reaks of capitalism.

| It may be different when they move to the new stadium, but I think Saints is expensive for what's on offer.
£19 adult entrance allows me to stand on a crumbling terrace; visit the toilet and p**s against a wall (no urinals, or hand washing facilities); and purchase overpriced, inedible burgers and pies.
Admittedly I get to watch Saints, but on the downside I have to watch some other team as well.

| Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "I know Hull give a £10 disount voucher on merchandise with season passes. It's not much but better than nowt. Anyway no one forces you to buy a shirt. It's like any luxury purchase, if you can afford it then buy it, if not then tough.'"
Hull used to give a discount, that then stopped and they gave away a free hat - season ticket holders hat, that then stopped when free entrance was given to the rd4 challenge cup games. So Hull have not given a discount in a number of years, if it has then I have missed out for some reason.

| I don't consider it a payment for the shirt as a garment. It's more a contribution to the club for which you get something back.
