| I wouldn't move Ellis to centre unless we make the final, where I would put him up against Inglis....I can't see anyone else who will be able to stop him for 80 minutes.
Eastmond has to play next week and Tomkins started to show some good touches in the 2nd half, it was pretty crazy that the biggest cheer all match was when McGuire was subbed...says a lot I guess.
Overall who impressed: Burgess, Crabtree, Eastmomd. Who didn't: McGuire, Lee smith (not that I'm anti Leeds!, Smith did well at wing but was a liability at centre)
Ok so my team next week (seems the popular thing to do!)
FB - Briscoe
RW - Smith
RC - Eastmond (SH if we had a decent centre!!)
LC - Shenton
LW - Hall
SO - Tomkins
SH - Myler
PR - Morley
HK - Roby
PR - Peacock
SR - Burgess
SR - Ellis
LF - Sinfield
SBS - Crabtree, Graham, Wilkin, *anyone*
A couple of people I would like to see back in the fold next year with a bit of form would be Gleeson and Pryce....I believe Pryce would go well at centre for England, far better than what we have now anyway.

As for changes, England need to go with Eastmond and Tompkins at half back and drop Maguire.
Ellis needs to go left centre and that young lad on the wing who's played 2 games for Hull all season needs sending home
lay off the sauce daft lad
briscoe did nothing wrong tonight smith and maguire left him for dead

And is Shenton really England quality?

So what's he done wrong the last 3 games? he was one of the better players today and is one of the best centres in Super League just because he doesn't play for a big club it doesn't mean he isn't good enough for international RL.

| Thought England really played as a team in the 2nd half. I thought Tom was exposed today but really, who can stop Greg Inglis? McGuire has gone backwards and needs dropping. Rest of the lads did well today, Eastmond and Crabtree made huge impacts off the bench.

| After watching the first half display, it's about time the RFL layed down some rules on NON-EUROPEAN players. We will never compete with the Aussie 3/4 line if we just keep buying imports

| first half was terrible, some positives were crabtree he was awsome, Eastmond did well in defence, Burgess atacked the line, lets not have a downer 12 months ago we were beaten 52-4 with a more experienced side

His defence has been good....his attacking non-existent.
Competent.....but ordinary on the big stage.

I dont think it has anything to do with the amount of Aussies playing in super league. I am affraid we are paying the price for the way our game is played, with the refs allowing an unreal ammount of lying on and 7-10 second play the balls it was always going to end up like this, The Aussies are much quicker in every department including speed of thought. This i feel is due to the speed of their game. Why can the Aussies have a competative league where different teams win every year? Why do the powers the be in our country feel the need to artificially level the playing field by bringing in rules that reward slow and lazy play and reward mediocraty?
Last night showed we are not moving forward, its easy to take positives from last night but the facts remain that when it was 0-0 and still a game we got totally hammered , later when the Aussies dropped their intensity we came back . Does anyone believe we a capable of playing at the level they did last night?

| lee smith needs to bugger off to union and maguire needs to be dropped for the pair played dire in the first half out ov position mistakes which happened several times that left both briscoes in no mans land, eastmond needs to play the full 80 as he's got bags of talent.

A very good and accurate assessment.
I also thought we (England) were better when Sinfield moved into the dummy half (hooker) role.
Roby, again failed to deliver his passes accurately (don't get me started about scooter hookers)
Great displays from Crabtree, Graham and Tomkins.

No bias there is there?
Ask the newspapers and BBC & Sporting life if roby was "terrible" (sic.). In fairness, he surprised me and played better than he has been doing for the Saints.
Regardless of your pathetic wigan centic opitions, ge is a shoe in for next week.

Another bit of blatant bias. You just can't help yourself. It's like some mental tic you have.
I'm not asking you to believe my opinion; just read the news comments.

Agreed; he looked solid if not spectacular.
No Oz tries came down his side which speaks volumes. In the absence of Senior he looks the best choice we have.
