| Quote: FarsleySteve "How would that work in terms of league points and deciding which SL team gets a freebie fixture against a championship club?'"
Yeah, sorry. As I don't follow SL these days I had forgotten that it was a league round with points at stake, I had it in mind as a one off weekend jolly.

By season's end, one team will have played one game less than the rest. You'd have to cancel the Magic Weekend.
I sincerely hope the RFL's back up plan isn't to run with 13 teams because they clearly wouldn't have thought this through.'"
We could just not have an odd number of games. That would be a pretty simple solution.

| I would rather just keep London, if they are not competitive in 2 years they will be relegated into the championship and then they can rebuild as a part time team. Making one guy pay millions of pounds a year to keep them going is unfair so you can tell why he has had enough.
Everything coming out of Red Hall at the moment has been terrible so I am sure they will come up with something crazy. The trend is that they are undoing everything good done in the last 20 years. So London dropping out will be announced along with a move back to Winter and P&R.
If they do drop out you would say that 13 is a good option as it would reduce the shock of moving to 12 teams. Not being able to have the Magic weekend is a bonus as it is a complete waste of time. But it is Fat Nigs baby so I am sure it will be made to work even if it doesn't.

No disrespect, but we don't need another Northern club in SL - if a space comes up it should go to Toulouse, if anyone...'"
Might aswell put the Eagles in, they will bring atleast 5 more fans than the Frogs.

| Is there any point to the Magic Weekend these days? It failed miserably with regard to it's primary mission of spreading the gospel beyond the boundaries of the M62 did it not? So why are we still persisting with it? Why hasn't the failed project been scrapped?

| Quote: Starbug "The thing is John , this was essentially the original SL ' Dream ' and as I recall , everybody liked it , as long as their club was part of it and retained their identity , unfortunatly it required clubs to give up that identity
So it will never happen
Look at ' Super Rugby ' down under to see the concept
The top team in Wellington was the Lions , they remain playing in the national competition , however the Hurricanes were formed and play in SR'"
Quite right Steve. by Caisley Gary and Mo. If I recall. The rest as they say is History. Unfortunally.

"We"?
Are you suggesting that you have some sort of connection with the game of rugby league?

| If they are appointed to SL after the GF when London have relinquished their place, there isn't time to recruit the number of quality SL players required to have a competitve squad.
Fev may well get promoted 2014 but they will be relagated along with one other club for 2015.

Who says they will win the grand final? They only won one of the last three!
Good luck to them. Hope Faisal comes through for them......

5 Games a Week, starting off Fri eve 1, 2 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday then when the Wendyball finishes, Thursday, Fri, Sat, Sunday, Monday with Thursday and Monday fixtures allocated DERBY GAMES.
Season runs from March 1st to Mid September.
London 1
London 2
France 1
France 2
Yorkshire 1
Yorkshire 2
Yorkshire 3
Lancashire 1
Lancashire 2
Lancashire 3
Top 4 play off
Weekend 1
Game 1EU BORN players per Team allowed.....none of the training/federation bollox.
Minimum 1 exhibition game taken on the road each year to a pre-allocated non heartland area to grow interest on the game...subsidised by the Competition owners.
The RFL can fight BARLA for control of the game under this level and when the RFL lose they can all get jobs flipping burgers, because it's all they are qualified for
10 teams. that's the limit of the games ambitions and two of them don't currently exist but you think Sky will fork out the money for them. There is no war with a rival network over here to goad Murdoch into action. Dream on.
What makes you so sure your 10 franchises won't run into troubles and then there will be 9 or 8. How soon do you think the league will be too small to provide a decent fixture list and cause Sky to be disenchanted and walk away?
Australia has a bigger league with a third of the population and has proposals to be even bigger.
A ten team breakaway. good luck with that.
