Good news for Wakefield today re: the new stadium

Great news, looking at the map Newmarket is a bit out the way isn't it?

Well it's not exactly in the City but it's not too far out about 3 miles, it's in a cracking position for away fans though literally right next to M62 junction 30.

It's the news we've been desperately wanting to hear.

Any idea on building work. I.E When will it commence?

Detailed planning required, so probably another 3 months or so before that is granted. Then it’s down to the section 106 agreement on when the stadium construction can commence, whether it’s after 40% (I think) of the development has been built and rented or whether it’s after lease agreements have been signed for that percentage.

Either way the developer has stated at the inquiry it will be ready for the 2015 season.

Smooth would be a welcome change, it's been anything but, so far !

I would imagine its rarely boring being a Wakey fan!

I like the look of that (obviously filling in the gaps myself!)

I will be honest I was worried about the Wakey build and slightly relieved when it hit delays.
Now our project is on-going and 6 months away from completion I can now fully embrace the feel good factor around Wakefield.


EDIT-I didn't hope the Wakey build didn't happen however and I did go on the Wakey site saying I felt for them because I did.

If/When Wakey get this done then Cas are on dodgy ground (Sorry Cas fans) as they will then stick out like a sore thumb (I think we can now discount Bradford after recent events) next time the franchises come around.

Wakey-Looking highly likely that work will have started already by mid 2014 if everything holds true.
