| Quote: Ruddy Duck "Even with the eight week internal club suspension by the Wigan club, Bateman has still been the most outstanding player of the the season.
As for the choice of Gidley at Stand Off, how can he be considered ahead of far better players in that position which have included Williams who is among the nominations for young player of the season.
And Ellis has only been selected on sentiment of his long career in the game.'"
Ellis has been absolutely outstanding this season that's why he has been nominated for the MOS.

There is so much bias in that post.
No way has Bateman been the most outstanding player of the season. For Wigan, maybe, but not in Super League.

| Can't argue with that selection to be honest.
The dream team isn't just about on the pitch it's about off it too so Bateman wouldn't of had a chance.
I was surprised to see Atkins in there but I suppose he has showed his skills and consistency this season more so than the past few. So good on him!
From the top of my head the only player I think must of run there counterpart close is Dorn.

Journo s who see more teams than any fans get to see nearly all picked Ellis
The players who play the game all picked Ellis for M O S
That's a dumb statement. Journos opinions are ok. But when players say it as well it kinda backs it up

| Only one I'd be tempted to change is Gale in for Sneyd.
People saying Ellis or Miniciello shouldn't be in just look daft. They've been outstanding this year and both are a big factor in Hull's success.

It's a matter of opinion actually.
Whereas the stats show they are barely in the top 10 backrowers in the comp.

Stats don't tell you how hard someone is hitting, or what influence they're having over their teammates, though. When Hull won at Saints earlier this season I thought Ellis - playing effectively as a third prop - put in possibly the best performance by a forward I've seen all year; he was exceptional. He's been consistenty excellent when I've seen Hull on tv, as well.

Exactly, I'm a big fan of stats, but you can't record things like influence on the team and his hits in defence, deserves to be in the 13 on form

No he isn't, he won it last year.
As for your last sentence, absolute rubbish.

Your bias comment only shows how little you have seen of him outside the world of Sky.

| Put it this way; Bateman is one of the ever-dwindling number of players in SL who look "NRL class", week in, week out.

I have no affiliation with either Wigan or Hull, ergo how am I biased?
Going by that logic you must have seen little of the Ellis and Minichello outside of your cherry and white bubble.

Let Bateman go to the NRL for a year and I guarantee he'll come back with his tail between his legs, just like Mossop, just like Tomkins, and just like Burgess.

| I'd like to see him give it a go. I am still waiting to see him come off second best even though I regularly expect it.
