The shirt issue still riles me. I saw loads of RU all white and a simple rose. Good simple design easy to wear as casual wear.
The England RL is just for sale to the diehards. It will have no wider appeal.
I asked my daughter if she wanted an England RL shirt and she said she preferred the RU one.

| Samoa have underperformed at international level for decades for some reason, but even so, that result must be a massive shock to anyone except the most optimistic England fans.

Doesn't help that England RL change shirt every 5mins, no brand is built before it's all change again. I personally think the in your face flag on the shirt is our best look (such as last year's shirt that was intended for the World Cup) as neither Union or Football go for that so it's distinct.

Farnworth
Welsby

| 6k for Italy-Scotland is a solid effort considering it was in Newcastle and given they haven't been discounting tickets this time round it should mean the revenue is good so far

| I take back my earlier optimism about crowds 5k for an NZ game is really poor.
Time for some discount codes for people who have bought tickets to go to another game maybe?
Worryingly we also have games in non heartland places like Coventry and Middlesbrough coming up

People moaning about the ticket prices, but the cheapest ticket categories aren't even selling out, there was only 6k at headingley today, the £20 seating and standing areas hadnt sold out, tomorrow night in Doncaster, every ticket is £20.21...£2.21 concessions but it still won't sell out. The cheapest prices for most world cup games are cheaper than or similar to super League prices. You can't get to many top level sporting events, gigs, theatres etc for much lower prices than the rugby league world cup prices are...too many years of underselling ourselves via low ticket prices and Groupon codes etc have come back to bite us this year.

Possibly the opening 5 games where in a compact area? Now they move.

Agree that they have got fans hooked on cheap/free tickets over the years and that isn't helping.
Also think they are going a bit too far with the 'tickets are selling out' stuff, I've seen a few social media comments where people are saying they thought there wasn't any good tickets left so didn't bother.

Will cut the organisers some slack in that originally the Scotland game was meant to be at a new stadium in Cumbria and the Australia game in Hull so a bigger geographical spread but a lots happened since that venue announcement.
Just hope the bad press doesn't start to build as it's hard to shake of a 'flop event' tag.
