Absolutely, those commenting don’t watch any NRL. I’m the same, have seen a lot of Hodgson for the raiders and he’s probably the best in the world in his position in my opinion.

| This tragic defeat for Great Britain has shown the folly of ignoring the custodian of the French glamour club, Catalans Dragons, the one and only Samuel Tomkins. Had Samuel Tomkins been playing full back instead of the Scottish descended Australian Lachlan Coote, Michael Jennings would not have scored his try, and hence Great Britain would have been in the match with a real chance.
Samuel Tomkins showed in the Downer Nines that he is the most brilliant attacking player that Great Britain possesses. He is also a very capable goal kicker. His omission from the Great Britain team today was a huge blunder by the coach.

| The GB kicking game was woeful.
And although Hastings improved as the game went on, there wasn't too much coming from the halves.
Coote was very average.
He looked great in a dominant Saints side this season but, wasn't giving enough.
McGilvery was superb, making great metres and solid at the back, Walmsley looked to be our best forward but, we're now really short of options at centre.
Hardaker went ok but would have been better at FB

Could always play Jake Connor.

| One big question is, whether playing under the "Great Britain" banner has actually added anything to the tour ?
We have an Australian Scot and a Warrington born Irishman in an otherwise English side (plus Hastings)

| Why does this Chris Hill bloke still get a shirt at international level? Liam Watts would've been a far better pick.

He is naive beyond belief in the tackle though. Bad play the ball and losing it. Both were questionable decisions but he should never put himself in that position.

| I think we missed a bit of spark in the pack. Thompson May have given us that but him going off after 15 mins prevented it, being a man down for the rest of the game certainly didn’t help. Tom Burgess should run his weight more.
I agree about Hill, he’s a good prop but a plodder imo. Good work rate but we need a bit more at international level.
Hodgson really annoys me, he is clearly a very good player but tries to do too much when he should be feeding his halves to let them do their job.
The GB team reminded me of Wigan this year, desperate for a bit of go forward and dominated in the pack preventing the backs from showing what they can do.
As great a coach as he is (or has been) I’m beginning to think Bennett has had his day.

| Is Josh Hodgson RL’s version of John Barnes?
He looks like a world-beater at club level, but as soon as he pulls on an international shirt he’s just poor. Very, very poor.

| Beaten by a team who were simply bigger, stronger and faster.
That Tonga pack is fantastic. Infact, if you were to make a combined team from today's squads, I dont think there's be many of the GB lads get a game.
Fullback - Tonga
Wingers - Tonga
Centres - Tonga
Halves - probably GB, but they're all garbage
Middle forwards - Tonga, maybe 2 GB on bench
Edge forwards - 50/50 split

| We have lost our identity ,we don't appear to have a style of play now at international level.
Coupled with strange squad selections todays result isn't a shock.

| Our pack was dominated from start to finish.Tui looked world class playing behind that pack.He organised all Tonga's plays.G.B had 3 different players trying to organise when there should have been only one.Poor display Hill,Hardaker,Hall and Coote need replacing against New Zealand.

Ryan Hall cannot be replaced. He is signed for the all powerful Sydney Roosters again in 2020, under Super Coach Trent Robinson, and therefore has the NRL Champions' seal of approval.
I must say though that I am looking forward to the clash between Ryan Hall and Thomas Makinson in the WCC this coming February.
