Played against a club struggling to put a 17 together and even had a red card and down to 12 men for an hour. But if you want to persist with the ‘eyes on the cup’ to suit your argument, then you can only hope the management at Leeds aren’t as deluded as you.

Actually, form is everything. Losing is a habit, a habit Leeds are struggling with. Just because your team is called Leeds Rhinos doesn't make you immune to relegation.
As for CC vs M8s? Do you risk getting players injured in a game that is arguably less important than the following 7?
The massive difference between Leeds and other clubs is that financially they could survive easily if they got relegated for a year or two. Other clubs face abject ruin.

I will because we have form in this department. We lost to Bradford before the CC Sf in 2014 and London before the final of that same year, both were relegated that year. We went to Hudds final day of 2012, were dreadful and got hammered 48-24 and they played with only 12 men for 70 mins, we went on to win 4 playoff games in a row.

Not saying form isn’t important but we could’ve easily won that and then get smashed in the CC semi and have that undone anyway.
People seem to be forgetting the difference in fixtures. Leeds have got the best set of games. We have 4 home games compared to Widnes and Salford’s 3 and no trips abroad. Whilst on the face of it our home form looks poor when you look at W-L record, a closer look at the losses. Saints, Cas and Wigan beat us by a single point, that’s 3 of your top 4. We were beating Warrington with around 10 to go, Catalans nicked it in the last minute, Wakey drew. For as poor as we’ve been this year teams that are in the top 4/8 have only just managed to scrape wins at Headingley. If they can only just win at Headingley then tells you how tough it’ll be for Middle 8 teams. When Salford and Widnes came calling it was 20-0 & 34-0 respectively.

The difference is that you had a good team back then. Your squad, even admitted by Leeds own fans is rubbish. To many hasbins and very average youngsters. This is no dig at you, just an outside observation.

If they were it would make the back pages of most papers (and I suspect give Ian Lenegan a hard on).......

Granted our team isn’t as good as it once was but still good enough to negotiate the middle 8’s. Still most of a squad that’s won at least one If not more GF’s.
Some Leeds fans say the squad is rubbish every single year and whenever things aren’t going smoothly so that really doesn’t mean anything. We didn’t stand a chance of silverware in 2015 according to many Leeds fans because the squad wasn’t good enough with too many hasbins.

| I don't think for a minute we'll be in the MPG but strangely, if we were, I'd hope we'd lose. Because a proper kick up the and a proper rebuild would be in order if we truly were that bad.

You'd get that for sure as SL contracts are invalidated on relegation so every top quality player at Leeds would leave alongside the "past it" ones. It would be an unmitigated disaster that would take years to recover from.

Yes absolutely ridiculous for any Leeds fan to be ok with relegation. Some have been so obsessed with a squad overhaul from as far back as 2010 when we finished trophyless and as such have spent most of the previous 7 seasons writing off the team as past it and not good enough that they’ve actually forgot to enjoy and appreciate the team we had.

| Fair enough printer but the lack of investment in the squad since 2010 can't be ignored.compare the squad of 2010, which won sod all by the way, and this and the difference in quality is stark and for all to see. Yes, SL has gone backwards too which has enabled us, imo anyway to keep winning things but that has to come to head at some point and it seems that point is now.

To be totally Honest, I questioned the appointment of Mac to Leeds.....his win ratio was less than 37% at Harlequins RL and finishing 9th, 9th, 11th and 13th and whilst he was initially only appointed as an assistant only to get the job when Bluey went, he inherited a team of stars.
His biggest attribute was his man management and the way to get the team to Gel, but I recall a few games in those first years at Leeds when the team were playing "his way" and losing, before the senior players changed the game plan in the middle of games and got them out of some holes.....but as those players have drifted away and not been replaced, his shortfall in coaching skills were exposed as they were at Quins RL.
This is much a damning verdict on the clubs owners, who seem to have taken the cheaper option wherever possible as it is Mac, who I found to be a straight up guy with a real passion for London RL

The lack of investment can’t be ignored but it can be understood. Since around 2009/10 withBuderus and Eastwood it’s dried up but that was around the same time the South Stand was condemned and cost us plenty every year to keep open whilst we tried to get the new stands approved. No coincidence for me the on field investment dipped at the same time, the amount of money being put into the stadium work is hide for a RL club. In a perfect world we could do the stadium work whilst still investing heavily on players but think people have to be more understanding that it’s not likely.
