| Quote: Egg Banjo "Ackroyd is an out and out half, and Randell, Wood, and Grix can also cover in the halves, and there's talk of Jowitt being spelled in the halves during friendlies and reserve games too to see how he does. That's 3 solid halves, 3 that can already comfortably cover the positions, and 1 who is going to be spelled there. Plenty of cover for the 2 spots'"
Our coach does not seem to agree re the cover at HB. We are actively targeting a SL Halfback.

No what egg said was correct, we do have cover. What CC is talking about is a full on SL quality specialist half - that to me is more than cover or that's how I see it.

I wasn`t saying what he was saying was incorrect? Im saying CC sees differently? Does the below quote from CC say to you "comfortably cover the positions" and "plenty of cover"? It doesn't to me.
“The one position we probably haven’t got a great depth is half-back especially if we got an injury to Liam Finn or Jacob Miller. “But I’ve been trialling Kyle Wood there in training. He doesn’t want to – he wants to play nine"

Yes I get that, but the player we are looking at I believe is more than cover he's direct competition - hth.

Agree there's a difference between guys who have played there in the past and can slot in and do a job when injuries occur and bringing in an SL standard half that's potentially competing for the 17.

| Quote: Trojan Horse "Watched this today. Pretty much most of Tom Johnstones try’s over 2015-17. Not including his number of contributions in drives, breaks and try savers.
Wouldn’t swap him for another winger in the league and if he carry’s on from his pre injury he should definitely be first name on the team sheet at wakey.
That’s not to discredit mcb or bjb who are very good wingers too.
TJ is a fantastic winger and if he returns from his injury and gets back to the level of performances he was putting in prior to his injury then he will be knocking on the England/GB door for selection
I heard 12 months ago that the Rhinos were closely monitoring him and I believe that he will join the Rhinos within the next 2 seasons

| In all honesty 12 months ago everybody was mionitoting Johnstone. I think some even tried to put in an offer but it was swiftly rejected without question.
Quite right too. He’s the best player to come out of the ranks in many years.

Three I'm told no idea who - but a long term deal saw that one off.
It's not just that Trinity aren't a selling club anymore we also go to great length to sign the kind of players who honour their contracts. If you want to go then go if you want to stay then you stay for a long time - we value you, you value us - simple.

| Leeds will have been monitoring him as you would expect about any young player making waves in SL but don't think we had any real plans to move for him or any other winger whilst Briscoe and Hall are still under contract. Both of them are OOC at the end of 2018, reckon Hall will stay but we could replace Briscoe. That could mean making a move for Johnstone (which may not be accepted) or go for somewhere else. After a serious injury any club that had their eye on Johnstone will want to see how he returns first before renewing any potential interest.

Leeds have put their faith in Ash Handley who’s a good winger and finisher but doesn’t have the match turning speed that Tom Johnston possesses. Their other young winger, Reece Chapman-Smith, who did have real pace has suffered a couple of serious injuries and the juries out on how that’ll affect his progress.
