| Lebonan might seem harsh but it's the correct decision, he's still in the way of the would be tackler, either you play the rule or you don't because without that player being in the way that tackler makes the ground.

Agree it was the correct decision following the rule to the letter of the law, but I don’t agree with the rule.

| I don't. you can't run into the line and be in the way, it's incumbent on that player not to be in the way if they do not have the ball, that he was stationary is irrelevant, he put himself into a blocking position and for me that's a good rule. If a defender falls for a dummy runner and tackles the dummy runner and they haven't breached the rules as is with respect to whence the ball is released then that's fine and the rule allows for that.

| Well that was average. Good in parts, poor most of it. McGilvery was man of the match by a distanceven. Thought Widdop, Walmsley & Watkins played well. We again looked better when Roby was on, but you know that Hodgson is going to be starting next week.
Gale looked lost at times. as did Bateman (though to be fair playing him in the wrong position doesn't help). Other than that an average performances, with to many cheap errors. Doesn't exactly fill you with hope.
PNG looked average.

| Watkins and Jerry are bloody fantastic and in wonderful form. Jerry MOM for me for the breaks he made in our half. Watkins showing his class, so can't argue.
Gale was too greedy. Widdop's form is essential for any progression in the tournament.
I hope Brown is okay because he was playing well before going off. I'm certainly realising his inclusion to the squad.
Finally. No disrespect to Eden and his marvellous season, and to those crying over him not being selected but Hall and Jerry are showing the kind of rugby it takes to compete in the internationals. Eden would of probably been pushed around in this game.. nevermind against Samoa and Australia.

I suppose Tomkins gets a free pass for kicking out on the full on our last set in that game, or George Burgess for the brain-dead penalty that gave NZ field position (both signs of not being ready for a final)?
You win as a team, and all that.....

Played for a rival club probably!?
I don't know how anyone can be critical of any of the 17 that day. Utterly pathetic.

It’s the runners responsibility to get THROUGH the defensive line. An attacking team can’t put players INTO the defensive line and then score a try through the gap which is created by them.

I think its a good Idea to start with Hodgson then bring Roby on it has worked every time they do it Roby comes on with fresh legs and you can still use Hodgson for other Positions
