| Even hammerings in big games such as the Bradford GF in 2001 or the 2006 low points don't even come close to the dispair I felt walking off Central Park for the last time. The only feeling I can compare it to is burying a close relative. I couldn't even bring myself to drive past there for about a year afterwards.

Sorry pal, but that was a high spot for me in the black and white half of Hull. It came on the same day as an away win at Wakefield, after losing our first 7 games on the bounce.
Anyway. Low point on the pitch, I can vaguely remember Fev doing us over at Wembley, after I'd spent the previous week demonstrating how we'd win easily. Hmph.
Off the pitch, it's pretty much anything to do with the Lloyd era. It started to improve at the Charlston Club, after the meeting to discuss the 'merger'. Almost going under is as bad as it gets.
****EDIT*** Actually, it's easy to forget THAT cup semi-final at Huddersfield, but the trip home from that game, knowing that most of the rugby league world thought we were all scum, was actually the lowest point I can remember, particularly as it came on the back of being on a high at reaching a semi final a year after we nearly went under. Whatever some people think, there was a definite culture shift amongst _most_ of the fans at our club, but we had to hit rock bottom to do it.

You should think yourself lucky you're not a Wakey fan then, I think they've done that to us something like 13 out of the last 15 times we've played them. Now that's depressing.

| Quote: Fordy "I'd have to agree with a couple of other Wakey posters on here.
Getting excluded from the initial SuperLeague and then having to watch my team get trounced at castleford while several first teamers who refused to play stood on the terrace laughing and joking.
The Pearman debacle and resulting CVA and having to watch players like Bobby Goulding and Steve McNamara take the P*ss out of our club whilst others (Steve Prescott for one) still put the effort in.
The losses of Adam Watene and Leon Walker within six months of each other. Although the way everyone at the club conducted themselves following these losses is perhaps one of my proudest moments of being a Wakefield fan.
The latest administration and the loss of several players to scavengers. Again, a real low but could prove to be the best thing I have ever seen happen to this club, time will tell.
36 days to wait now for what could be the biggest day in the clubs recent history or the final nail in the coffin. Praying somebody in Government finally makes a sensible decision but with my innate distrust of politicians I cannot feel optimistic just yet.'"
This, the hardest thing out of all this lot to take was the deaths of Leon & Adam, puts everything else into perspective.

| The Premiership final against Wigan in 1994/5.
The team has been in worst places, financially and playing staff-wise, but that game was the end of the tether for me. I walked out at half time. I'd just had enough.
Didn't stop me going back for more the next season though

| As a Cougar Fan, it has to be the Carl Metcalfe era 96 - 99, it was the end of Cougarmainia the destruction of all the hard work that had been put in place by the board, turning the club around between 91 - 96.
You would think winning the league in 1995 with the deciding match being a 104 - 4 demolition of highfield, would be a massive high for the club, and initially it was but then the RL to decided;
"no promotion for you guys, that london team that you absolutely destroyed during the playoffs this season would be a much better fit than you, try again next year, we are relagating some teams out of division 1 in readiness for Super League."
We finished 2nd to Salford the following year, and met them in the playoff final which again we lost and this time the RFL said hey Keighley guess what, you didn't win the league this year and if you had you could have been promoted like Salford, well the good news is that we are promoting 2 teams this year, the team that finishes top and the team with the nice new ground!!
So in 96 Salford (quite rightly) went up and Huddersfield (finishing 3rd) went up, but they had just finished their first season in the McAlpine/Galpharm.
At some point in 96 Mr Metcalfe got involved with the club, I remember bumping into Mick O'Neil, Mike Smith (the club directors) and Mr Metcalfe outside Old Trafford before the playoff final against Salford and Mick introducing me to this cowboy. Anyways he took over the club with the promise of £3 million which never materialised and in 99 he stripped the club of everything, sold all the players and put the club into admistration. (this is the bit now where I really have no sympathy for the plight of Bradford this year!)
To put the icing on the cake and really stick the boot in, there was an article in the Telegraph and Argus news paper with a comment from Mr Caisley stating, that Bradford should be able to pick up a few nice bargains.
The club are still recovering now, but I am very happy to say that it looks like the club is making a massive effort to get back to the good times and Jason Demetriou should be massivley applauded for the work he has done at the club and long may this continue.

| Salford.
Various points stand out...
25/06/2000 Bradford away (96-16).
19/05/2007 Catalans away (66-6) and fighting with the coaching staff.
07/04/2002 Castleford home (16-74) and Cas being applauded off by The Shed.
The entire 2007 relegation season and in particular the abject performance of a Mr A Coley.
But joint worst for me are Hull away in 2004 when we lost 82-6 having one only one of our opening eight games and the only time I have left a Salford game early and secondly the week after the 96-16 when we went to Wakefield and got another slapping despite a public apology on the Monday after Bradford. The players even had the cheek to come over to applaud us.

| Salford: probably 1920s and early 1960s. 96-16 in 2000 was obviously a low point, although I feel the record home defeat to Cas in 2002 was worse.
1999 was a terrible season. No surprise that it coincided with the height of Andy Greg's publicised drink problems.
