Is that a prerequisite to be a top coach? What if I was to say some of the players at Quins only today said he is a better coach than McDermott(the Leeds coach)- Intelligent was one word used!! Maybe not surprisingly

So you think besides Shaun Edwards and Martin Offiah the rest of that list are Australian?

The population of London is over 7.7 million. They probably have more hockey players down there than we have Rugby league players up here, It neither makes the sport popular or a success. These people do not play the game because they aspire to play for Quins, They do it because they like the sport. And the numbers we are talking about are a minor fraction of sport playing public down there. Dont make it out to be something it isnt.
Quins need to become a viable working club and business and people need to stop trying to defend it with weighted playing numbers. For a start they are not the only ones down there trying to put down roots and make the game a success.

| The crowd is very disappointing but what is the solution.
I see a lot of people are asking for Quins to be axed,I don't agree with this.
There has been some great work done in the Capital with amateur rugby and this should be applauded.
Maybe it's time for the Quins to relocate to another part of London because TBH playing where they are now has probably hurt them quite a lot.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

The solution is simple
Money , lots of it , spent on finding somewhere for them to base themselves , and then millions spent on marketing themselves to their locality , no point looking further afield as we constantly hear that traveling in London is too difficult

I'm open-minded, but as far as I know it's unprecedented. Had a few dealings with Rob when he was London Development Officer and he's a great bloke and very switched on. As I understand it, NFL coaches don't tend to have illustrious playing careers so maybe RL has been missing a trick.

| I make no appologies for the crowd announced...it was terrible and the club and people responsible for marketing are under no ilusions as to my thoughts on this subject....but when SL started, LMS was 9 years old........it takes time to get the kids playing the game, keeping them at it and hopefully progressing to a decent level. Yesterdays man of the match was Jamie O'callaghan....from Feltham. The production line in London is healthy....there are plenty of local lads in the squad and those that either aren't up to SL level yet or maybe never will be are running out for the Skolars.......Yes, 15 years ago we were a team full of aussies, but that title now belongs in East Hull......I believe that only Huddersfield have less overseas players in their squad this year.
I repeat...the gate announced was terrible and even if, as some are saying, it was nearer 3k....it is still a major issue that needs to be dealt with, but as long as DH is prepared to bankroll the club then it's not really that important...and certainly not any business of anyone else other than the club and the RFL.

| If people are going to accuse the broncos of tax evasion they better have some good evidence or else take the attendence given by the club.
Accusations of cheating don't usually go down so well.

| I bet if you took away the freebies and the media stated true attendance of today's Leeds Carngegie came the figure would not be too far off the one in the OP. Look at Union's premiership table, the 3 bottom clubs are all in the north.

| I blame the media to be honest. When do the local London papers ever talk about their Super League club unless paid to do so? Probably next to never. Is it on BBC London News? Probably not. I'll watch the local London news on BBC and ITV tomorrow and see. Is The Super League Show on at a time where the ordinary Joe can trip over it and think "this is good"? No, it's shown at 4am just in case people decide they like Rugby League. Until RL can turn the media then we'll never do as well and I think we have a generation to wait for that to seriously happen. There are still a lot of people in the media who don't like Rugby League and most of them have never watched it probably! That's what we're dealing with and London have the worst of it.

So a bit like the biggest loser programme where its a % of the total rather than an actual number-Thanks Devina, I now understand- walking away scratching ones head!
So how do you measure success-Would you say Clubb, LMS Eng, Jamie O'C Ireland, plus 10 + locals in the first team squad could be classed as success, or a 50 point beating handed to Widnes B yesterday or is there something else-maybe its the crowd thats the measure
