| Rugby League is the bigger code in Australia......yet less than 12,000 turn up to watch an international game played in an area with 9 NRL teams.........and you are the current 4 nations champions.
Rugby League is the weaker code in New Zealand....yet over 20,000 turn up to watch an international match played in an area with no professional RL team.
As I said old dear.......I am involved in marketing and the people responsible for the marketing of the double header on Sunday should be fired. I believe more then 12,000 turned up for the double header at Mt Smart last week......and they were warm up games.....
As for your assertion that I am an Anti rugby league troll or whatever ARLT stands for on your patch of the playground.......the fact that I don't nibble on your clumsy bait isn't an excuse to PM me to try and get a response. You seem like a decent bloke who loves his League...it's just a shame that you have no concept of what a sports fan is
So....at the risk of being called a radical.......Back on thread....
The attendance at the Australia v PNG/Tonga v Samoa games was a disgrace.....no matter what type of spin some will try to put on it.

| Sydneysiders have shown before that they are NRL/Origin fans rather than RL fans. Brisbane or Townsville would have got a better crowd than that.

Totally agree with the comments re- the crowd.
Nice sunny weather would have seen 18K, drop was due to a very poor day...
Good ole Sydney weather again. It is that kind of place. Why do you think I don't live there???
Shame the bit about ARLT has nothing to do with the rest of the post.
BTW, rugby league is the "bigger" code...bigger than what? lol

in torrential rain its a fine crowd.
anything over 10,000 is a good enough result given its a team of part timers vs the roos and the bookies had australia winning by 52 points

| Bookies burnt twice now.
1. The likes of me getting on at 7/1 for the Kiwis...(now about 4/1)
2. PNG keeping the spread to within the 52 they offered vs Australia
Going well, much as predicted...

Do Australians melt in the rain then?

Not a bad crowd seeing as it was raining, it was at Parra, the opposition were part timers and the TAB had the Roos to win by over 50 points

| In my opinion that game should have been played in Port Moresby. Better crowd, PNG may have competed more and then all of the southern hemisphere teams would have played home and away.
Aussies need to get a grip if they won't go watching their team because of drizzle. L

| Should have played in PNG but I guess if the Aussies are scared of rain then going to PNG would be a no chancer.
