| I wasn't asking what the club's got. I was asking how the ENTIRE OF SL benefits, considering you said 'SL can't afford both'. At what cost is SL gaining/losing?
If you go watch the latest video on Cas's website you'll see that the funding package is in place.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| Quote: dally messenger "1. all ive read is cas dont have funding for the ground sorted and that was months and months ago. the last i heard theyd asked council to make up the difference. until i hear the funding has been sorted ill stick with what ive said.
2. why should clubs have new grounds - dumb question. why should clubs even have big crowds?
ill give you a hint - warrington, FC, and Huddersfield. or even wigan.
small town clubs have no chance of competing with the bigger clubs in older stadia
even saints and bradford will one day be at risk in SL if they dont move to new / improved grounds, its just that there are many smaller clubs in s**t grounds who will go before them'"
Go on , give us a clue ?

RL as a sport isnt big enough in england. it also struggles against australia at international level
having 2 clubs like wakey and cas next to each other is a waste of a SL spot
2 SL spots for Hull is fine because both are strong clubs and getting stronger
cas arent too bad but without a new ground wont grow further
wakey are just hopeless.
the more SL has stronger clubs the more the game grows. stronger clubs contribute to a stronger SL via better competetion.
i really shouldnt have to be explaining how stronger clubs benefits the game.

So, in the event that both Wakey and Cas get their new grounds are they both OK to stay in SL then?

But - and here's the kicker - if these clubs didn't have to fork out for new stadiums, they could strengthen their squads which would make a stronger Super League anyway? St Helens have managed for a while, why not Cas and Wakefield?

Hull KR are broke, getting further into the red and have an abysmal stadium. Unlike Cas and Wakey they have no junior development to speak of and have had a success bubble built on using overseas players beyond the maximum allowed other clubs through dispensations and running on an unsustainable budget. Cas and Wakey have contributed far more to English SL and will continue to do so in future.

look at bradford.
crowds are down by 50% once they no longer are winning stuff and their finances are iffy
the same thing will happen to st helens when their run is over (looks like happening sooner rather than later)
you need new grounds which can help to make clubs more sustainable for the longer term
can cas or wakey seriously challenge the bigger clubs with their current grounds? maybe if they got a rich sugar daddy like saints do then maybe
all i want to see is SL become like the nrl. that means all clubs can have a chance at winning a GF, or at least most of them.
all of the nrl clubs have made the semi finals.
hudds, warrington and hull fc have all seen massive crowds increases after moving to new grounds and all are now challenging clubs like saints and leeds
hopefully as mroe clubs get new grounds other clubs will be forced to get their own or be left behind
edit : buying success on the field is a short term fix (bradford, saints). if the club isnt strong off the field when the on field success declines the club is stuffed. invest in the ground, juniors, marketing etc and the on field results will come, especially with a salary cap which levels the playing field and the elimination of relegation every year

theyve improved their ground steadily
theyve gone from being promoted into a semi final position
their crowds are fairly good
all the top clubs are losing money, as are NRL clubs.

So Huddersfield have increased their crowds massively because they are playing at the MC galpharm ? , or is it because they are being bankrolled to the tune of 1.5 million a year ?

| I thought this thread was about Hull KR s debts.
Looks like its turned into a personal crusade by one poster to use it as a vehicle to have a dig at Wakefield.
Any way back on topic.
Im sure Hull KR will sort themselves out.

Clearly Dally has a hot line to both Richard Lewis and almost everyone else in the game. He seems to know that Cas will stay up and Wakey won't, Saints should stay up regardless and many other random FACTS. He is incredible, no really. Especially when you consider his ramblings on the thread about RU on this very VT. He spouts boldly about the hypocrisy and elitism displayed by them yet spouts very similar beliefs of his own on here. How sad, I suspect he was bullied at school.
