| Im not saying they should be dropped and my own club put in, but you have to wonder when or if the Welsh experiment is going to work.
I would like nothing more than to see Welsh RL take off - If it is done fairly and squarely, no unfair bias about unlimited foreign imports etc.
I love following my club away, and have done so all round the world, including Australia. I would be delighted to book trips to Bridgend, Cardiff or wherever, a great weekend away and the prospect of real growth of the greatest game.
Im ok even with the prospect of seeing my own club hurt (albeit temporarily) by the seedlings being sown in the Valleys.
All in all, i would like to think i could remain calm about this and wish the best of luck to Celtic to get over this.
Im struggling though, as this story really boils my p1ss when i think back to the license process and what has emerged down there since that day, both on and off the field...

| Might there also be a case for the RFL to answer?
I remember earlier in the season both Leigh and Whitehaven had visa applications refused for players. It became apparant that if RFL were to 'back' the visa applications they were far more likely to be accepted. I remember Whitehaven were in discussions with the RFL, with Whitehaven trying to justify why they needed the player and what he would bring to the club. In the end I think the RFL refused to back the application.
Now how would it look if the RFL have backed illegal applications?

So you think those stalwart servants of the state at the UKBA decided off their own bat to investigate every sports club in the country on the offchance of discovering illegal antipodeans ? I think not. Someone wrote to them. And I think we can all be certain that said informant may not have been well-disposed towards Celtic. They may even have had something to gain.
I wonder if the Freedom of Information Act would allow us to discover who ratted on the Aussie-boyos.

Of course it's more important who ratted on them than what they actually did. Great piece of spin there!

This is why events unnerve me.: |
|
| Quote: tb "take a moment to ask yourself how many other clubs have had visa problems with Australian signings this year, and then ask yourself what this new attitude by UKBA could potentially mean for any club, in any league?'"
According to the Crusaders website the visa problems relate to previous seasons and as such presumably have nothing to do with any "new attitude".
Whether that means that CC's 2009 overseas recruitment was above board or whether further revelations will follow remains to be seen.
"The investigation found discrepancies in the visa applications of the six players in seasons prior to 2009."

One can only wonder....you would imagine planes full of 'illegals' ready to take off over the next few days if everyone was being investigated, wouldn't you?

The RFL actually backed (think 'sponsored' is the correct term) our application, and it still got turned down

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

I've no idea how the UKBA found out about these players. Then again, I'm not the one pointing fingers and inventing conspiracy theories, am I?
There was trouble with their work permits before the start of the season. Maybe they just came back to find out why these 6 players were playing for them?
It makes no difference either way does it?

Why sound so defensive ? I don't believe I suggested the letter to UKBA came from a Widnes postcode. Or do you know something ....?
