Prior to the last World cup,you poms were shouting from the hilltops that you had the best team ever playing in it,this happens before EVERY major competition and EVERY time you end up with your tails between your legs,now you have New Zealand to contend with as well as the Kangers,and lets face the truth,your style of rugby is going nowhere,compered to New Zealand,who are improving rapidly in recent years and are justifiably No 2 in the world and are a lot nearer Australian standards than the poms have been in the last 30 years....at least Australia know they have to be at their best against the Kiwis to beat them whereas against England they could play 3 or 4 reserves and expect to win. |

You are joking? I don't know many that were saying that. Eddie and Stevo where saying we had a good squad but that was just trying to keep everyones hopes up. It was probably the weakest touring side we have taken over for many a year, definitely the slowest backline. I don't know where you get the idea of that we shout about that we are going to do this and that because I certainly didn't whitness any of it. I was in Australia for the whole of the comp and there was not one English fan who had any confidence of us even getting to the final, never mind winning it. |

This year will be a transitional team almost. I expect us to get beaten well and yes, I was one of those who thought we took a good team out last year.
I dont necessarily think we are worse than ten years ago or anything, there's some freaks in that Australia side, bar ten or so of their best players I don't think there's much difference between the NRL counterparts and the top SL ones, mainly in the backs. David Williams is no better than Peter Fox etc

Slight exaggeration but he's not in the same stratosphere as Inglis, Hayne or Folau, or even Darius Boyd imo if we're talking less high profile options for a Wing spot.
