He might've. Probably has.
As a smoker myself, well ex-smoker upto now (going well - wink), I find that smoking is a habit that often replaces and can be replaced by another habit. In my case, it was due to a lack of consistant training that I began to smoke upwards of 20 a day, which was very shocking. When I realised what damge I was doing on holiday last year when I was munching through nearly 30 a day, I began to get back into the groove of training regularly and found it easier to cut down, and now actually quit.
I notice that since Brough moved to Cas in 2006 and his body began to adapt to consistant full time professional training, his body composition changed from what it was in 2004 at York and 2005 at Hull. Just through the looking glass, I think that Brough is clearly fitter now than he has probably ever been, so I think it is safe to say he has at least cut down.
