Never been able to fathom this. Now not for a second do i believe Widnes to be worse than any club in SL but the RFL deciding to promote Widnes before the SL applications had come in basically says they know some teams are not up to scratch otherwise you couldnt risk putting a team in if their application could be worse than current SL clubs.

We already know that Fax meet all the criteria and we know that at least a couple of SL sides dont meet all the criteria so because of that ive booked the 26th off work and am holding a street party to celebrate Halifax`s entry in to SL........yeah right.

This process is the rfls idea of P&R.

Widnes wer deemed the best club in the CC and will be promoted.

sl clubs wer judged against each other and the worst club will be relegated.

Fax have been chucked in with the other sl clubs.with the advantages that the sl clubs have had for years it would be astonishing if fax replace one of these clubs.

Havent the RFL already said that 1 team will be coming up, and one coming down in 3 years time? I think the RFL should have kept its options open this time by not announcing that one team would be coming up in advance. Why are they doing this again in 3 years time? P & R is still in place effectively.

i cant be the ony one that thinks our bid(fax) had got just as good of a chance as welshies, london, salford and cas.

all of those clubs have areas where the others struggle. by the looks of the criteria, the decision hinges on which 'areas' the panal decide are most important.

Halifax's bid cant be as good.
However i'd like to see what they could achieve with 3 years SL money and therefore i'd say bye bye to two SL franchises tbh.
Salford have done.. nothing barr get their stadium underway. Fax have had a ground for years now and would average better than Salfords current crowds imho, and thats all it is opinion.

we have a better ground at the start of 2012.

we both have a youth system, yours admittedly better than ours at the minute, but wev been outside of superleague for the last 7 years with no money! so to have one at all i think we are doing pretty well! (our academy setup whilst in SL challenged for honours).

We have the same main sponsor.

and we have already set minumum standards in all other areas.

any area that you are in front of is because you have had SL money behind you, if we were given the shot at SL we would improve dramically in all these areas.

this for me says our bid is as good as yours.

You may be right and understandably you'd hope that that would be the case, but you do [iknow[/i for certain: you are making a calculated guess.

I don't think that the RFL will see it that way. I think this situation is why P+R should be brought back as there are more teams meeting the standards than can or should fit in the top division
But this is one of the main reasons franchising was brought in, the longer teams are kept away from sky money the further away they will be from SL standards, unless SL teams misuse the money the shop will remain effectively closed

Yeah 2005 was a fun time (until we got knocked out by Fax).
