| Quote Gadger="Gadger"The fans I saw ran straight to our players to celebrate. Then to kr players to commiserate, no gloating it goading
Not saying that didn't happen with some fans, just saying what I have seen
Shame we are discussing this rather than the greatest 2 minutes of rugby I have ever seen. Ok I may be biased
'"
Some of Salfords fans must be blind because they ran straight past there players towards the east stand to goad and as for commiserating with our players ask Josh. Mantallato how he felt when one of your fans smacked him sorry I mean commiserated with him

This is what I saw too. Not all, but some went into the pitch with the intention of goading and taunting the Hull KR fans.
Rather like their owner waving around his £1m "cheque".

| Quote M62 J30 TRINITY="M62 J30 TRINITY"Sad to see fans of other clubs desperately filled with false outrage of a bit of a nothing disturbance, hoping for points deduction, record fines, expulsion from the game, playing behind closed doors. Some people must lead very sheltered lives, You see fans goading other sets of fans then cry like babies to stewards send emails to the RFL get their phones out etc post on forums when they get a response, hoping that club gets fine etc. That's the mindset of some of the so called RL family.'"
Oh get over yourself.
Many fans do not want this culture to creep into our game and prefer to see it clamped down upon to send a clear message.
Ironically, you talk about the "RL family" when the intention is to keep Rugby League a family game.

| Ban anyone involved in Saturday's trouble, end of. Some of the overreaction on here about the pitch invasion ia ridiculous though, it's happened forever in sport, it's the d1ckheads fighting which is the issue. Tell me one teams fans that wouldn't have ran on celebrating in such crazy/unlikely circumstances? Maybe Wigan's who'd have been out the ground with 10 minutes left....
Btw, Perry Mason aka Nottingham Tiger..... have witnessed on numerous occasions your "angelic" fams causing grief at games. Magic last year being one and also a group of bearded numpties at the AJ Bell last year, one of which was promptly put in his place for his incessant goading.
I don't condone any of the cr@p on Saturday, we have some prize tools supporting our club but to label the whole set of fans as thugs is narrow-minded and just shows certain posters inability to use logic instead of letting their dislike of a club/owner cloud their judgment.

| Quote Bal="Bal"To add to the bottle throwing incident, on a video sharing site there is a video that shows multiple instances of fighting breaking out, including by and against women after the Hull KR and Salford game. It also shows an unprovoked attack and a person (looks like a Salford fan) being kicked on the ground.
I don't want to run salt in the wound, but there imo absolutely needs of be action taken against both clubs, but especially Hull KR for completely inadequate stewarding in letting the pitch be invaded and then allowing several fights to break out and continue.
Could Hull KR be starting their Champtonship life with point deductions?'"
Did you also see the Salford fans in no colours with hooded jackets pulled over their faces, bit like football thugs as it was well organised. Did you also see the incident where one of these non-shirted thugs ran 30 yards and punched a young Hull KR fan from behind who was completely unaware of what was coming and was not even involved in any way with the fighting, an act of pure cowardice. Maybe your eyes were shut at the moment of these incidents. The young lad is my grandson and was terrified after what happened. The bloke who hit him was in his thirties at a guess. While there is no excuse for a pitch invasion, at Hull KR it is a tradition that fans run to the edge to hopefully get a selfie with the players, this is where he was when the cowards ran across the pitch, he was facing the stand with his back to the pitch.
There were plenty of stewards on duty as well as police, but when you are confronted by hundreds of running grown men at once it is difficult to prevent.
It was quite alarming at the number of grown men following Salford (won't call them fans) dressed in clothing with no club attachment and that allowed faces to be covered, it was reminiscent of EDL and BNP types.

You were the topic starter I believe? Who perchance do you support? I saw the whole thing first hand and fists and feet were flying everywhere.i have no doubt how it started then after what seemed a while the police stormed on and took out anyone who was fighting.i can understand the depth of feeling and the urge to celebrate after pulling off that comeback but I am of the opinion once any fan goes on the pitch they should be banned . unenforceable nowadays when you see promotion games etc and may seem harsh when many were genuinely celebrating but it could have triggered a much bigger amount of fans from East stand entering pitch.will be interesting to see how rfl and police apportion blame?

Leeds? Ryan Hall's last second effort that sunk Hudds and gave Leeds the LLS last year? And despite their own title hopes being sunk in such devastating circs the Hudds lot felt no need to behave in a bad way. Without getting hysterical about things I don't think pitch invading can be condoned; what follows is all too predictable.

Watch the video footage again, watch the second video from around the 1:32 mark. Your innocent grandson is bouncing like 10 men (why was he on the pitch?) then your innocent grandson goes chasing a lone Salford fan with about 4 others including a middle aged man. He couldn't have been that 'terrfied' by it as he resurfaces at about 3:36 fighting or should I saying bouncing like like 10 men again in front of your main stand as it kicks off again.

I support Hull FC.
Banning people from entering the pitch to celebrate would be over the top, although I do agree it is unacceptable. Banning people for fighting is, in my opinion, the correct course of action. The severity of the ban should be proportionate in my opinion. The clubs themselves have a responsibility as well, and the host certainly have a responsibility to fan safety and the games reputation through providing adequate health and safety measures like good stewarding. Where this is shown to be inadequate, as I believe is the case here, then the action should be taken against the club as well. Again, imo, this should be proportionate, ranging from a suspended fine through to point deductions.
For what it's worth, while I say this is all my opinion, I've pretty much described the RFL's position.

| I suspect KR will cop the blame for inadequate stewarding. If the Salford fans could have been prevented from going on the pitch, the KR fans would have stayed in theirs, and all we'd be talking about would be an epic end to a tense game.
