They don’t require it. We may have it at the moment but it isn’t a pre-requisite. When clubs aren’t getting appalling attendances for their play-off first round games then they may have more of an argument, but whilst they are doing such a p1sspoor job selling tickets. F@ck em.
Where is your evidence for this? Why would large proportions of fans go all the way up to Newcastle for 80mins turn around and come back? I don’t think that is what would happen, I would think that firstly, it would attract more neutrals to attend who would watch both games, it would a day/weekend out with RL only a part of it. Secondly I would expect a large proportion to be organised group trips, and less formal groups of mates going up for the games, then on the lash in Newcastle

Regardless A 20k attendance for a first round play-off game would be a massive improvement from where we are so im not sure what the backlash would be if we got two of them.

Clearly the RFL want to make sure that they get their Wire v Wigan final and are prepared to offer every assistance no matter how it looks......it`s for the good of the game don`t you know.

I have no problem with a challenge cup semi-final involving London and an M62 team being played up north. But Leigh - seriously?! Warrington, Salford would not have been better bets?!

Huddersfield Town are away on Saturday 27th but there is a non-sporting charity event at the stadium that evening.

Indeed, Salford is at least directly on the Motorway network, Doncaster is on the main trainline. Leigh is a baffling choice.
