I feel for Smokey. He's scratching around for a new interpretation on events and his favourite channel of argument - facts. He's blowing though. He'd have more success setting up holiday apartments in Chernobyl. He won't actually have the courage to accept that he was wrong about Crusaders or indeed accept what HAS happened to Crusaders, instead lashing out at the people he really thinks are to blame - mainly (and strangely) insignificant people posting on a message board. He's a certifiable loon.

Starbug and Richie post here mostly because a) they love the game of Rugby League and b) because they have (like myself for Fax, and equally for a number of Crusaders fans) have a close affinity and passion for their local team.

The Hull supporters at the Crusaders game obviously related to the local support for the home team. This is what sport is all about, and I still hold in my mind a comment from a Widnes fan in the Fax debacle season of 2003... "Good luck" is all he said to me (relegation was confirmed that day), and I've held that thought (and hope) ever since.

But that is obviously impossible. It is so obviously impossible it is embarrassing. How, in reality, can they receive extra financial assistance and it not benefit them on the field? If they receive financial help that they use on marketing or on youth development then that is money they would have had to spend on marketing or youth development that they no longer have to that they can now spend 'on the field'. Which you have just stated you dont want them to.

You also want to insist that they play by exactly the same rules but then want to allow them extra dual reg players, which of course precludes them playing by the rules.

And by doing these things which you want them to do, you also want them to be precluded from moving forward.

I also dont see why they would need to employ expensive overseas players, im not sure anyone but you has mentioned it.
