| Only figure I have see was on a RL site somewhere, suggesting around 80% is of currently registered SL players have double jabbed, be interesting to see those players who have not been jabbed and can't play. Not sure about any exemptions for diabetes etc

Quote: Bullseye "Vaccination reduces the viral load you can potentially spread to people who are more vulnerable. While extremely fit unvaccinated people may be at less risk themselves they would potentially pose more risk to the unvaccinated.
It also begs the question as to why they wouldn't want the vaccination in the first place. They should just get the jab and stop whinging.
The more people jabbed the sooner we get out of this mess. Currently 3/5 ICU patients with covid in London are unvaccinated. That's a metric the government look at when deciding to impose restrictions. The sooner we get more people vaccinated the sooner we get out of this situation.'"
I would argue ending Vaccine inequality would do more to end the situation than worrying about the small amount of unvaccinated.
While the developed world are getting third and even 4th jabs the global south can't even get two to their populations.
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/uk-among-coun ... 04301.html
How ridiculous is that? The WHO from the very beginning when boosters were suggested questioned the need for boosters while there was a greater need for vaccinations elsewhere.
While booster shots and vaccines for young children take priority over getting the global south vaccinated then no end to this mess.

Since when has diabetes been exempt from a jab?

You could argue that maybe there should be some form of lockdown or restriction towards the non vaccinated. This is to protect them and slow down the number of non vacs filling up the hospitals and causing extra load on the staff. The majority around 80% vaccinated nationally can get on with there lives as normal as possible.
Also I see loads of people in places where masks are mandatory don’t give a toss and won’t mask up.

We are currently in a scenario of 100k per day of the UK population contracting omicron. The data shows it will subside once it hits 10m. That looks like being mid February. If another variant doesn’t evolve that is.
The rules do need to change to accommodate the variant. No point sticking with the old stuff when new variant isn’t a killer.

I don't agree with that but for arguments sake how would you police such draconian measures?

You're nothing but trouble on these forums.
You've already been told you're an embarrassment on the Leigh board but, you just won't give up.

In the similar way you can,t leave the country without a passport, drive a car without a license or insurance or use public transport without a ticket.
We are in big numbers now approaching 1 million infections per week. If 20% are un vaccinated and if 20% of that 20% could be loading up the NHS to break point, then draconian measures will be a nailed on certainty.
The nightingales are now being re introduced, preparations for the NHS break point are under way.

If this continues, herd immunity will be inevitable in no time. Calm down owd lad.

But what measures are you talking about?
Can't leave the house? You see the issue with giving the state more powers with infringe on civil liberties is once the crisis used to justify such things is over governments are not so quick to give those rights back.
I don't agree with covid passports simply because I don't trust the government and it may start as a tool to prove vaccination status but I don't believe it ends there and it becomes a tool to gather more information and some kind of id card.
Anti vaxxers are not the only ones who don't get vaccinated.
Undocumented immigrants for example have valid reasons not to want to be vaccinated as when you have a government creating a hostile environment against immigrants and deporting the Windrush generation you see a distrust in believing the government when they say being vaccinated will not result in being sent to some horrible holding prison for immigrants.

It will, but its the time envelope on when the NHS will be over run, South Africa are now saying 6 to 8 weeks according to their data but they don't have the same density population of the UK.
Then we get another variant and the herd immunity starts all over again, we will probably be heading for more boosters which might eventally start to have more side effects. Up to now each variant has become weaker than the previous one as far as fatalities go.

Scotland and Walkes have already introduced measures, but I think those should be applied to protect the unvaccinated ones.
I wouldn't worry about Covid Passports and ID cards if I was you, the government have already come through the back door and know everything about you what you do where you go, all courtesy of smartphones and social media platforms, non contact payments etc.
As for undocumented immigrants, if it captures illegal immigrants who are threat to society, then so be it.

In the meantime the NHS gets overrun. Great plan. If you allow it to rip through the population unchecked it will kill people unnecessarily.
Plans are now being put in place to convert Trust gyms, canteens and other communal areas into bed space to cope with extra patients. Hope to God we don't need to use them. Allowing this situation to arise is irresponsible, better to flatten the curve and not run staff into the ground.
As for vaccine inequality around the world that undoubtedly needs tackling alongside getting the unvaccinated over here to take up a jab. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
