| I expected more from Wales but they where atleast competitive. France have been very poor but PNG probably my biggest disappointment simply because of how much ground they have lost since the last world cup.
In hindsight the way the groups where made has probably been a bit unfair on the likes of Tonga who went unbeaten iirc when you consider France only won one game. Whether Tonga could have beaten France is another argument though.

| France, they are a disgrace and have been for a decade, if they keep performing as bad as they have in the last decade they will be a country that no team will want to play.
They are already nearly there seeing as England prefer a mocked up bunch of has bins dressed in some wonky medieval clothes and call them the "Exiles" rather than play France.

| Quote: TheButcher "France. You've got to question why they were given the five drives down the middle tactics against some of the biggest forwards in the game. Then never had a plan B when it inevitably didn't work.'" Like ive said a 1000 times previously A G A R .Trent Robinson would have done a sterling job with France,Agar has dumbed down the tactics, the systems, the flair, at least under Monie(past his prime) they gave NZ a very close call having said that they bombed in the 2008 WC.Imagine Wayne Bennet in control of France Saturdays QF could have been a tricky game.

| France by a distance.
They used to have the excuise that they were filling squads with players from a part-time domestic competition or lower grades in Australia. That's no longer the case.
Point at the coach all you want, but players have to be clever enough and brave enough to play what is in front of them. This French squad appears to be neither.
You have to question whether some of them have been happy enough to drift along in a comfort zone at Catalans letting the likes of Dureau and Menzies carry them.

| Wales have not disappointed me, as that's the level they are at.
The two teams that have disappointed me are Tonga for under performing and Scotland for the complete opposite.

| Wales.
It's easy to point and say France, because they've been appalling really, and only A bad kick by PNG has got them this far, but why did they have to try against NZ and Samoa? Arguably because they were at home, but once they'd beaten PNG, they were through. They were poor though.
Wales on the other hand, were facing a relatively raw Italy team, who may have beaten England the week before, but, what had played maybe 2-3 games as a team before then, if that.
USA, well they may have surprised everyone, but they have amateurs in their ranks, they really should of been beating them, in the kindest of respects to them and I thought the Cook Islands were very unlucky, they had a great attack but a trouble defence, and i thought that cost them. They were unlucky against Tonga too.
But i believe if France would have been in group D, and not Wales, they certainly would not of finished bottom, and for that reason, Wales are the biggest disappointment.
I wouldn't say Tonga, because I felt Scotland shocked a lot of people, and on another night, were Tonga were unlucky, they could have been, and that 2 point margin, could easily have been in their favour.
1. Wales
2. France
3. PNG

| Wales for me but its easy to see their down fall, no play makers and i don't know if there is any insight either.
French are just poorly coached and its easy to see, greenshields should of been at fullback with escare on the wing he just isn't developed enough at the moment to be expected to carry the ball back.

Rugby League World Cup: |
|
| 1) Wales - the draw was setup for them to get to the Q/Final and they didn't
2) PNG - not the standard of previous touring sides
3) France - very poor on Monday. Excellent crowd/atmosphere and they didn't perform.

| PNG-disappointing regardless if they cant travel wel
wales-funnily enough I didn't think they would win a game
as for france, yes they won only one game by one point, but they didn't ask the organisers to make sure the top 3 from group a and b progressed, next time there should be a play off between the 3rd place teams and the runners up of the 3 team groups and winners progress to the QF

| France are pathetic...with all those Matalan Dragon players, and they still rubbish.
Ireland/Wales without hardly any SL/NRL players did not under perform.
France, maybe WE could help them, by having 4 teams in the European Sooper Dooper League. What a load of %^&$ !!!
Hope We put 70 points past them Toads !!!!!

| Wales for me. Simple. I liked the look of their squad on paper, and even if nothing else they should have beaten the Cooks. Their no-show against the USA was diabolical.
