So why not go out to the market and bring in someone who knows sport, has negotiated TV contracts, understands the media, worked maybe globally........ not Woods right hand puppet.

Given the current in-fighting between the RFL and SLE I can't imagine any credible candidate wanting the job. With the game's biggest stakeholders so divided, the sport is headed for a -storm and nobody wants that stain on their CV.

Does Rimmer have a CV? Has he worked anywhere else?

Generally to bag a top job at the RFL you've had to have done a mediocre to disastrous job at a small time team like Halifax or Huddersfield in its Shuddersfield era. Once you've left a team on the brink of oblivion you are all set to lead the Sport to greatness.
