Easy for Wakey at the moment but feck me that is a soft yellow. No way is that tackle 'dangerous', fully in control, lands straight onto back, yeah the legs go up as it would with that type of contact and a bit of lift so it's a penalty but a yellow... the smash around the face against the Wakey player earlier was far more dangerous and the ref basically ignored it.(touchie called it)

There was also something of a twist by Caton-Brown in the air which makes it worse, I've seen this a number of times and don't know what to make of it. Hard to stay in control as the defender if the attacker twists and turns his body in the air.

This ref is absolutely awful!

I think that going full-time is the worst thing to happen to RL refs, just gives them a sense of self importance and they wind up looking for ways to make a decision every few minutes.

Should have lumped on Wakey at -8 with the bookies. Only caught the first half but Widnes really are dogw@nk!

Terrible team

Wakefield have been very good and Widnes absolutely terrible, but the worse performance on the field has to be this idiot referee. After 35 years of being involved with the game I don't think I know the rules anymore as I can't figure out some of these decisions. Something needs to be done, the players can't know what they can and can't do from one week to the next, and us fans don't know what we are watching half of the time! How any neutrals that are new to the game are meant to figure this out I don't know.

Ironically Wakefield's MOTM should be Rangi Chase.

Absolutely spot on pal.

I know Wakey were only playing Widnes but they looked good. Especially in Defence. Quietly going about their business. Roughly around 5th now.

The ref decisions were 50-50 ad certainly didn't affect the result.

The dump tackle could have been dangerous but what made it yellow was that the player kept driving when MCB was in a vulnerable decision.

The knock on that the commentary team said was dodgy hit his hand as he went over it so it was a knock on.

Don't think I have seen that many bad decisions in one game since Ashley Clown graced our screens, truly shocking but made a change to get the better of the 50/50s.

Just try any game reffed by James Child or Jack Smith
