I was hoping for more along the lines of 'I once drew a big chalk penis on the back of a well known geordie five eighth / stand off / fullback whilst he waited to be served in a busy bar in Parramatta in 2004'
But I guess it's a start

| I met Mal Meninga in a Chinese take-away in Wheldon Road. Was after Cas played a touring Aussie side (sometime in early 90s I think). Meninga hadn't played in the game but had obviously built up an appetite!
Was also sat in Burger King in Cas on my own on a table of four, when Vowles, Eager and Fritz asked if they could take the other three seats - coun't really say no!

| I was about 7 foot from that fight between the bouncers and Bridge and Harrison/half of town last week if that counts?
Nahh seriously, I've met a few in my times, most league guys go out of their way to talk and be nice as opposed to soccer types who live in the clouds

| About 150 citizens of the township of Widnes will have witnessed a former London, Wigan and Widnes halfback (a bit of a 'menace' in all truth) inserting a drinking straw into his gastro-intestinal tract - from the lower opening - in a nightclub called The View...

Comming from Cas over years you get to know a lot players you grown up with or live near them i find it strange this thread because it seams normal to me bumping in to players.

yes i too find it quite strange as bumping into players both past and present is pretty common in and around castleford, infact ill be out round xscape tonight and you can almost guarentee there will be plenty of super league players having a few beers in the bars.

| Players I've spoken to -
I used to manage a Wine Bar in Southport in the early 90's . Billy McGinty was an occasional customer .
I once met Joe Lydon whilst shopping in Wigan in the early 90's .
When I worked in a Southport supermarket in 2000 , Sir Alex Murphy used to shop there with his wife . He'd always stop and have a chat about Saints .
I spoke to James Graham a couple of times in Asda in Aintree . After a Friday away games , he'd usually call in or a few munchies .
Players I've seen -
I currently work in St Helens , and Saints players frequently pop in , although I haven't spoken to any .
