2019 Challenge Cup Quarter Final Draw

Two Championship sides were in the draw for the quarter finals of the Coral Challenge Cup was made this afternoon at the Halliwell-Jones after the pulsating game between the Wolves and the Warriors.

Yesterday’s giant killers, the Bradford Bulls, present at the expense of the Leeds Rhinos, and were joined by six other sides including fellow championship side Halifax. Hull KR who shocked the Salford Red Devils on Saturday afternoon and the holders, Catalan Dragons, were also in the hat.

With one game still to play, the late kick-off between the Giants and the Saints, one side would have to wait a few extra hours to find out their opponents.

If Catalans can beat Hull FC at home (where Catalans recently thrashed Hull FC) then Catalans are only 90 minutes from a title defence at Wembley. Somehow I don't think that Hull FC will cave against Catalans in the quarter final. It could be a close game.

If Gigot, Tomkins, McIlorum, Moa, and Casty stay fit then Catalans should beat Hull FC.

St Helens should easily beat Wakefield.

Bradford should beat Halifax.

Warrington should easily beat Hull KR.

Spend all the effort correcting the first names of players but can’t even get 80 & 90 mins right. icon_rolleyes.gif

All games have ten (10) minutes break at half time. Two halves each of forty (40) minutes, plus half time, makes ninety (90) minutes (not counting injury time, which is indeterminable).

Half times last much longer than 10 mins these days.

Hull against Catalans is a game that could go either way, but you can't read anything into last week's result.

We are the most wildly inconsistent team in the league, but if the forwards really get the bit between their teeth and if Kelly and Connor are in the mood then I don't really care who Catalans have available. And since it's a knockout game, I expect us to be up for it.

Hull are bang up for the cup this year, the side they put out 2 weeks ago won't be anything like the side they will put out for the cup last 8. Fc will dispatch of Catalan. The dragons only hope was a home draw which they didn't get. If saints play like they did against Huddersfield and Wakefield have bodies back that could be a cracker. Bradford will start as favourites against Halifax but fax could stay in the game and do them over. You'd expect wire to defeat hull Kr.

Trinity just love comments like that, it's like adding rocket fuel to the team, we'll see.

Just seen the typical arrogance Wakey fans are getting quite known for thesedays over on their board.

"It's Saints who should be worried about this draw, not us".

Haha! They are 10 points clear of Wakefield yet it's Saints who should be 'worried'.

That makes a fat lot of sense doesn't it. Wakey could only just get over the line against my lot yet the best side in the comp should be 'worried' about them!!

It's amazing just how cocksure this lot have become in recent seasons on the back of two 5th placed finishes and no trophies.

You and Printer have to be the same person, you've never lived in Widnes in your life.

Yeah we are arrogant because to a man or women we've all said that Saints should be worried d040.gif
