It's funny that over the last decade or so, Warrington have tried to get a rivalry going with Wigan and failed, and now they've moved on to try and get one with Saints and they don't seem to be interested in Wire either.

And given just how much Warrington fans have been mouthing off of late, if their side don't complete the treble this season, it will be a major embarrassment for them.

As for tonight's game, I fancy Dire to win by 4-6 points.

Warrington doing a great job on the marketing side IMO. Usually take about 1500 to Saints but tonight they have sold 4500. I wish other SL clubs would try and market themselves in a similar fashion.

Anyway, Saints win for me.

Funny you should bring this up, because while Widnes went their first 103 years without winning a championship and Saints went their first 80 years having only won one championship and no Challenge Cups, the big North West rivalries in this sport were Wire v Wigan and Swinton v Salford.

You do talk some rubbish.

The club are doing a great job at the mo with the promotion (not the Widnes type of promotion Jonno the great). We had close to 12k for the London game, though c.2000 were kids paying £1. What helps, as well, is the optimism based on some of our recent performances and new signings. If we can become more successful, there's loads of potential I feel for bringing in some larger attendances. Go back 10 years or so, I think it was the last saints v wire game at Knowsley road, we brought about 7k on the back of an exciting side and hope to rid the monkey off our back. Unfortunately, we lost in a close contest- again!

Tough game to call.

I'll go for Saints on the fact the concede less penilties and make less errors. And they have home advantage. But Warrington are running hot at the moment and Austin is in fine form.

Quality contest so far, these two are clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

Even under the old system it probably isn’t a try. Under the on field decision it definitely isn’t being overturned.

No problem with that decision. If you think that’s the worst no call ever you don’t know Rugby League...which admittedly is a fair assumption.
