| Widnes v London....Momentum is everything and Widnes are looking at 16 straight losses
HKR v Salford.....HKR based purely on them having home advantage
Leeds v Toulouse...if Leeds want to win by 50, they will
Halifax v Toronto...a lot will depend on the referee here.......but I see Halifax players wanting this more than the mercenaries.

| Me thinks
Widnes VS London Think Widnes will just edge this one at home.
Hull KR VS Salford Rovers hitting good form into the Q 8s. 7/7 For the robins
Leeds VS Toulouse Upon deliberation leeds in crisis, Toulouse's 6 and 1 will have stormers
Halifax VS Toronto Toronto gotta be too strong for part timers Fax. However talent only gets you so far and the Fax seem to have a lot of things going for them, should be interesting.
Widnes VS London and Fax VS Toronto are the two that intrigue me the most from round one. Both high pressure games for Widnes and Toronto for different reasons

Hull KR the pride of East Hull.: |
|
| WIDNES v London - widnes will have to much for London I suspect, plus that pitch gives them an advantage.
HULL KR V Salford -be a lot closer than a few weeks ago. We're going into it on form, and Home advantage will help. Should be an excellent game.
LEEDS V Toulouse - it's a free hit for Toulouse really. But leeds should have to much for them. A lot will depend on this weekend though.
Halifax v TORONTO - The travel won't be much of a factor with there being 2 weeks till the game. Toronto brushed most championship sides aside during the season. And though Halifax should be a lot closer think Toronto will just have 2 much.
BEST GAME - Hull kr v Salford. 2 good sides, looking to start the 8's with a win, good players on both sides. Has the ingredients of a great game.
IMPORTANT GAME - Halifax v Toronto. Halifax are a decent side, going in to this in forms. Toronto need to win it, to prove they're contenders for promotion. Lose to a side that were in the same division and it's hard to see them beating the Sl sides .

| The pitch gives Widnes no advantage. London play on a plastic pitch don’t they?

| Widnes - Its or bust for the Chemics, they simply have to win this one
KR - Home advantage and KR have found some form recently
Leeds - The Rhinos will simply have too much and Toulouse look nowhere near being ready for SL
Toronto - They will be all guns blazing on this one and any side wanting promotion has to beat the 3 Championship sides, could be interesting though and a Fax victory could mean a quick end to Toronto's promotion hopes.

| Widnes v London - I think Widnes will just have slightly too much for London. Unless in the usual 10/15 minutes when Widnes switch off, London score 4/5 tries. Widnes by 3 or 4 scores or London by a slither.
HKR v Salford - KR look decent, Salford are ok. KR by a score and abit.
Leeds v Toulouse - If Leeds turn up, they win comfortably. If they dont and Toulouse start well, could be a twitchy 80 mins. Toulouse have some real class. Leeds by 4 or 5 scores or Toulouse by not many.
Halifax v Toronto - Toronto will be coming out firing for this, have they learnt from past mistakes in big games? If TW can keep their discipline I see them winning by 2 or 3 scores, if not it will be close.

| According to the Daily Express, the Toronto club are fuming that they have to play in blocks of 2 and requires 3 visits to the UK overall. They say the RFL have made it arduous for them, well why should they be given any sort of advantage.

Well they have plenty of time to get here, and be ready for their first game. What more do they want?

And does that include the MPG, assuming that its in England and not in Toronto.
There are those that think having 2 or 3 N.American clubs would be good for the game and they say that the cost is negligible and that travel is no issue as it's only 8 hours.
Throw in some Sky tv scheduling and it really could be fun.

| Widnes v London - Widnes by 4. I think home advantage might just give them enough of a lift to win this one but it will be a tense affair. I do think they'll go down though. They're in massive trouble if they lose this one. Not sure if it's televised/streamed but this is the one I'd like to keep an eye on.
HKR v Salford - Hull KR by 10. Much closer than when they last played now that there's something on the line. I'm tipping Salford to end up in the MPG but survive.
Leeds v Toulouse - Leeds by 30. They have the most talented set of players, and will turn it on in these qualifiers, finishing top of the pile.
Halifax v Toronto - Toronto by 18. They took their foot off the gas last week in a dead rubber. I think they will be a different prospect in a meaningful game. Tipping them to earn promotion without having to play in the MPG.
