| To see Saints think outside of the box and sign the likes of Jamie Lyon and Ben Barba. Players that truly light up SL. It’s about time other teams followed suit and signed bona fide world class players that light up super league and raise the profile of our sport

| He’s only here because he got caught using class A (more than once).
Saints have taken advantage of his NRL ban. It’s not like they have tempted him away. He’ll be back in the NRL before long.
Lyon only signed because he walked out on a contract and couldn’t play in the NRL at the time either.
Both world class, but only here because they can’t or couldn’t play in the NRL.

| I prefer it when they think outside the box and sign the likes of Lance Hohiha, Josh Perry, Jack Owens, Tommy Lee etc.
Two signings 15 years apart, who only came to superleague due to ‘issues’ in their personal life’s is hardly a club trend setting.
Saints best signing of recent years is sat up in the stand calling the shots. He as much as Barba is helping make some average players look very good and that’s the sign of a fantastic coach (Michael Maguire did the same for us).

实事求是!: |

| Signing class players who can't get a gig in NRL because of all field matters is taking a risk, not really thinking outside the box. It'd have to be a small box.

| Barba's efforts really count for very little at tonight's level. I gave up on it after about an hour though I wait with interest to see how he goes when it matters.

Thats exactly my thoughts, Holbrook is a fantastic coach even if he doesnt give credit to oppo's sometimes after a loss.
He is much more important than a player who is only here because he got off on a technicality rather than face the music. The NRL beckons next year for Barba.

And he will be waved off with the best wishes of Saints fans around the world. Super league trophy under one arm, Challenge cup under the other and the Harry Sunderland medal wrapped around his neck as he rides off into the sunset

| He’s only here because he got banned in NRL after failing a drugs test.
After this season has finished he'll be straight on the plane back home.

| Barba is exposing the poor quality of Super League players.
Back in Australia he is a good player but in Super League he is like Superman
It a sad reflection on our game that with a few exceptions the majority of Super League players are nowhere near his standard

Why is it? The same argument could be said about the number of average aussies who do 10 years in NRL, come to SL and struggle to do anything. FPN at wigan, Galloway at leeds examples.
Barba was a superstar in the NRL too, pretending otherwise for the sake of detriment to SL is just silly

It's just surprising that it was Saints who objected to raising the salary cap,and the marquee player signing, when Dr Koukash
suggested it.Shame the British rugby league fan has to settle for less than the best.
