Robert Hicks talked about this several weeks ago. He (or the other refs) aren't the ones in charge of the volume switch or even the decision for the audience to be able to hear the refs. It's all on Sky this one, the ref is just doing his job.....he can't be running around thinking "I better communicate more quietly so I don't annoy the TV viewers."

Good ref, how many finals has he refereed? Deserves one this time round.

Why in gods name did Sky show 3 slow motion replays of Owen's injury? We knew the first time it was a lower leg or ankle injury. We also knew he was in extreme pain. What exactly were Sky looking for? The exact point the poor sod broke his ankle (or whatever he's done)?

agree about the ref's mic, do we really need to hear them shouting and bawling for 80 minutes?

the only time we do want to hear them, when they are talking to the players or captains the SKY lot are babbling over the top of him!
