Hope it doesn't result in a "Andy Farrell" in losing someone who's at the end of his playing career but could do an awful lot more beyond that.

Must say I'm surprsed, but maybe as he's staying at Leeds he will still be working in RL as well with the Rhinos. I mean, playing RU is hardly a full-time job?

He will soon become the only player to also referee a game in two different sports. Fair play to him.

He could have retired as a 100% Leeds Rhinos legend.instead he is tacking a couple of years of crap on the end. Very sad.

He's expressed an interest in going to play Union before.

He's chosen to do it at a time when he can no longer play rugby league to the required standard.

Not sure he owes much by way of an explanation to the chip on the shoulder, anti Union brigade for that.

Non story really. Anyone who ever played for/against Wigan Rufc in the 1980s and 1990s would not be surprised to see a whole host of famous RL players turning out, all called A N Other by some fluke. Kevin deserves a less taxing hobby in his retirement.

The only thing less taxing than Rugby Yawnion is playing tiddlywinks (which he could still do with the other backs whilst he is waiting for the forwards to stop writhing on the floor, sexually molesting each other)

I hope he comes back to RL once his playing days are done, in whatever capacity. Our sport needs to keep people like him involved.

Yeah, I'd echo that. Sinfield has been a great servant to the game, and we wouldn't want to lose him permanently.

Short-term, I agree he doesn't owe anyone anything.
