| Why do English club sides have such sh*thouse main jumper sponsors?
Apart from Warrington who have Emirates airlines the rest seem to be sponsored by the sort of companies that sound like they would operate from a small industrial unit on a run down estate just off the M62 somewhere on the outskirts of Huddersfield.

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg |

| its not uncommon for club directors to be part owners and to own companies, thus putting money into the club through sponsorship which I suspect will have company tax benefits.
Having said that I suspect your ignorance at who and what alot of these companies do, or how big they actually are, has led you to this conclusion! End of day the size or profile of the company is irrelevant, its how much they are willing to pay for the sponsorship that matters to clubs.

I'm sure 'Plumbcare.com (the boiler professionals)' are a fantastic company but I'd question whether their sponsorship deal with the Wildcats is really as worth as much as Emirates sponsoring Warrington.

| probably not, in the same way that the Warriors are probably not getting as much from Vodaphone as Brisbane do from NRMA, in fact I know they're not.
Bigger teams attract bigger sponsors. At least Wakefield have got one which is more than some NRL clubs can claim lol@Sharks

I'll save you the time and just confirm that it isn't.

Salford Red Devils RLFC.
[quote="Gotcha":y7izhg01]Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]: |

Its actually a dealership not the firm Hyundai. Minstergate of Beverley I believe. Their previous sponsor P&O was a big company just as LloydsTSB for Hull KR in 2007 & 2008.

Er, because they had queues of multi-billion pound sponsorships beating down their doors, but as a matter of policy, took the worst-sounding they could find, to provide you with more troll material.
I think.

| OP is obviously a troll but whatever
But seeing as he mentions Wakey - I'm just glad we have a sponsorship deal at all and I have no idea how much it is worth. Our previous main sponsor went down owing ~£50m in VAT which lead us to getting in another sponsor at short notice for last season. So in that respect we are on the up.
In early years of superleague we were actually sponsored by Sainsbury's, but that doesn't mean it was a big deal in monetary value, despite it being with a "household name"

| RL clubs generally have smaller sponsors because most of the time that sponsor is only being seen by people who attend the game. Especially with the "smaller" clubs who don't get on Sky as often.
So it's more worthwhile for, say, Leeds Building Society to sponsor Leeds and market directly to its main area of business and a good proportion of its potential customers than it is for say Vodafone to spend the same amount of money whilst only getting to a small proportion of its potential customers.
The direct opposite to the likes of Man Utd who's sponsors aren't aiming at the people in the ground but at the millions of people watching on TV.

| Word on the street is that Hulls away shirt doesn't have a sponsor at all but instead has Steve Prescott Foundation across the front.
