| They built him up to be a world beater before the game. Not seen a player hide and bottle it so much for a while. Very poor player. England contender don't think so.

| Who else can the BBC focus on to try and convince the casual viewer that Widnes have a chance?

True but widnes have not come out the dressing room yet, so how can you give yourself a chance

| Widnes have looked a poor team every time I've seen them play this season. If Brown doesn't turn up neither do the rest.

| You look at the Widnes side and apart from Hanbury, and Brown is there one player who would get into any of the top 6 sides?
They need a new front row, and a couple of back rowers at least IMO.

| A telling point was towards the end of the second half when Brown went through a gap. He was then faced with 1/2 a gap between 2 Castleford players that would have given him a clear route to the line. Rabbit and car headlights came to mind.

| Kev Brown is still a top top player
his big downfall is the lack of a kicking game, was on show again yesterday... not improved it since he left hudds!
hard for half backs when your behind a beaten pack and an awful completion rate too, widnes were just awful all round yesterday with too many errors

| He's a quality player. Widnes' forwards were absolute chip shop and they may as well have not bothered naming a hooker. Brown had very little territory and when he did, I think we nullified him well. Can't it be that cas did well as opposed to he's not very good?

| I honestly think Kev is a game changer and behind a pack on top would be one of the most dangerous half backs England have to offer. Not seen much of him at Widnes but this season I hear he seems to playing great rugby more consistently. He was either brilliant or very average on game day for the Giants.
I'd take him back.. And surely if he was available, most teams would snap him up.

| I personally wouldn't swap Kevin Brown for any other half back in the league right now.
The Widnes pack this year is far too lightweight and it is extremely difficult to operate effectively behind a struggling pack. In any game where the Widnes pack has been able (or allowed) to compete, Brown has emerged as the best player on the field and enabled Widnes to win most of those games.
In the games where the pack has been dominated then yes, he has struggled to impose himself on the game but so would any other half in this league.

| Widnes pack was destroyed so how can you expect the HB to play well? He did make a few errors but that's probably because he was trying too much off the back of no platform.
