| Call me a cynic but if he resigns then Salford would not have to pay off his contract. Now Nobby been a pretty smart guy wouldnt do that so what is the odds that there has been a generous gift from the good Doctor so that paying him off wouldnt count on the salary cap?

Coaches don't count on the salary cap, so any pay off, whether redundancy package or otherwise, doesn't count on the cap.
I'm not too brushed up on employment law, but since he was offered an alternate role (director of rugby) so it's not a sacking, simply him refusing a change of role - aka resigning...

| Would anyone be greatly suprised if he appeared at Odsal in an official capacity in the very near future?

He wasnt made redundant as the coaching role still exists. He didnt resign, as he never actually accepted the new role. He was removed from a role that he was contractually engaged to do...........hence sacked!
The offer on an alternative role is irrelevant in that regards BUT any earnings from the alternative role would be taken into account if working our a compensation package..........which again is irrelevant as he hasnt been in the job long enough to make a claim for unfair dismissal. In the current climate, anything less than 2 years (except in exceptional circumstances) if your employer says bye-bye, you're out the door !

I very much doubt it; when a compromise agreement has been reached, the employee has resigned, not been sacked, and has usually done so with a suitable, tax-free lump sum in consideration.
Salford fans might want to portray the Dr as a tough nut, but he hasn't sacked Nobby, he's paid him off.

Ah right, thanks for clearing the bit about the salary cap up.

Your 100% right, under current employment law, Noble would be able to sue for "constructive dismissal" anyway, so theres almost certainly been an "agreement" reached, even if Noble isn't aware of his rights, theres bound to be shedloads of "Sports Agents" and Lawyers in Manchester who do! I doubt Koukash would need a phone call from any of them to know he had to stump up some compo'.

| Nobles departure has been treated in exactly the same way Ed Farish,Liam Foran, Vic Mauro and Ryan Mcgoldryck ,all still under contract at the time of departure, was dealt with.
ie after negotiations the employee's
left by mutual consent.
No court cases no gagging orders no dramas.

| Noble should concentrate on commentating IMO. His knowledge, and enthusiasm is excellent, and he even makes Davies a little bit more positive about the game too.

I'm surprised anyone watched for longer than ten minutes after the way Jiffy grumbled on at the start of the game. I watched a documentary about him and he is like a different man when covering the other code. Shame as he still has a brilliant technical understanding of the game.
