| There has been nothing on sky sports news regarding the rugby league world cup but are currently counting down 5 hours to a friendly kicks off in rugby union. Have they thrown the toys for us rejecting their coverage offer?

| No, I don't think so. They'd have given the union this level of coverage anyway, as without the 6 Nations and World Cup, these are the most high profile games they have.

yes they do it a lot they nail their colours to the mast of union by over promoting union you can only blame the rl negotiaters for not having a realistic expectation of league and its bargaining power i mean what other sport will sit there while papers have such retrograde and negative comments made about it?rl just sits and has to suck it up it is still being reprimanded for 1895 .i wouldnt waste my energy tweeting north west tonight to complain about lack of coverage.look at the wigan anhialation of wasps in the 90's at a good twickenham crowd was it an epiphany?did they realise or concede this is so far in front of our code in terms of fitness class and skills ? no they just became more bitter and resentful.thats england its class conscious ray french dulcet northern tones draw your own conclusions

| I can’t speak for anybody else but at my place of work we typically just promote the products and services we offer rather than our competitors. Maybe SKY are taking the same approach

I do believe so. No mention at all of the RL World Cup on the sports news sections of Sky News. Today they have, however, reported on the track cycling world cup for example.
They've certainly spit the dummy - but it just refects badly on their supposed professionalism.
They need an avalanche of (polite but clear) e-mails etc on this ( news@sky.com). You won't get a reply (well I didn't) but it'll force home the point.

| I just don't think its on Sky's agenda, the rugby league season is over as far as they are concerned.
They want subscribers watching Union for the next 4 months, so thats were there target interest is at the moment.

Unless you work at news broadcaster company i don't think the same applies, rugby league still has its supporters and many of them will watch skysports news to hear information which is still a product for them in their own right.

I'll give you 100 quid if they do the same thing for the FIFA World Cup next year. Which is not being broadcast on SKY.

| I don't get how as a Sport Rugby League is in need of Sponsorship deals etc but the biggest tournament in Rugby League is been played in England but yet BBC are only showing England games, with an hours highlights program on a Sunday evening. Sky are broadcasting nothing apart from the occasional update on Sky Sports News. Then Premier Sports which at an extra cost you can get are showing every game.
I watched the England Game at the weekend at my rugby club. I was asked by several lads from the local football team who was playing and when the next game was. I know that some will be down again today to watch England play but they seemed very surprised that the coverage is so poor unless you subscribe to Premier.
Its the Football World Cup apparently next year. I would put my mortgage on the coverage been on BBC ITV and SKY

The football world cup is in that group like the challenge cup final so has to be on free to air i believe so will be split between BBC and ITV
