| The word down here is that 2 clubs have offered money for Tomkins. (.5 million AD) Wigan turned it down originally wanting 1 million. It was announced on the offload show on MMM radio yesterday that Wigan have said .75 million AD and Tomkins can go. It was said he will playing NRL next year, at least 2 clubs willing to spend.

| I'd rather he goes to the NRL than Union.

| Good news whatever Tomkins decides to do with his career whether it be in the NRL or Rugby Union. He's gotta get out of Super League otherwise he'll just end up stagnating and going nowhere.

You'd be the expert of stagnating and going nowhere of course.

Me too but would be very surprised if he stayed in league.
Would love to see him at Souths.

| The two clubs most likely to be after Sam Tomkins are the two clubs who were pursuing Josh Dugan: Brisbane and St. George-Ilawarra.

I think he will choose a Sydney based club for the life style and having the other UK players around.

| Tomkins could get in Souths side.
Either Inglis moves back into the centres where were weak or Sutton moves into the back row.

| He has to do it, and far better than going to RU. Its a shame for SL, not because its unique - players have always gone - but that now, and for the foreseeable future, the traffic in the highest talent is more or less one-way.

| Slightly OT, but the standard of living is better in Brisbane than Sydney by a mile. Sydney's horrible.

| I could understand if you'd have said Melbourne or Perth, but Brisbane?

Inglis is devastating at full back. Madge hs no reason to move Inglis. It would be crazy. That is why the thought of buying Tomkins to play full back is a huge laugh.
Souths current centres are good enough, and who knows, maybe Matt King will recover from his injury and play in the centres this year.
They won't move Sutton to the back row because (a) he is playing very very well at five eighth and (b) Souths have abundant top quality back row forwards.
By contrast St George-Illawarra are desperate for a full back (why else would they pursue the undisciplined drunk Dugan?) and Brisbane definitely wants one. If Tomkins went to Brisbane he would almost certainly be in a playoff qualifying team.
