After retiring form the NRL, he will play next year for Redcliffe Colts in Queensland Cup.
His addition to Fji will give the forwards a lot of experience and skill. Add this to the possible backline and Fiji will be a very strong team, possibly including:
Kevin Naiqama (Newcastle), Wes Naiqama (Penrith), Darrel Millard (Catalans), Marika Koroibete (Wests Tigers) Sisa Waqa (Melbourne Storm) Lote Tuqiri (Wests Tigers).
Superb set of outside backs, probably playing Wes Naiqama in the back row if Tuqiri plays.
This assumes that Akuila Uate stays with Australia, even though he was born in Fiji.
This is great news for the World Cup, and should guarantee excellent crowds at Fiji's games.

| Uate is on the outer at the moment, so this looks likely unless he has a stellar season or there are injuries.
Haynes involvement in the Aus team will depend on his fitness. If he's fit and plays origin you'd think he would be in a roos jersey on the wing.
Anyway, its all guess work until October.

It is frustrating how players can pick and choose virtually right up to the date the WC starts. Players should state which country they intend to play for now IMO
However players swapping nationality isn't unique to RL. The English Union team has plenty Kiwis and south sea islanders in and the English cricket team is at least half South African.
One of the pleasing things is how many genuine quality players Fiji are producing. Just hope most stay loyal.

I think you'll find that the Cricket and Union teams don't have a scenario like RL, in that if Australia don't select Uate & Hayne those players will immediately be selected to play for Fiji.

Agreed.
Its about time the sport tightened the eligibility rules.
Once a player declares themselves to be Australian (or wherever) that should be it.
If they have parents of different origin, then make a choice, but you shouldn't be allowed to change, especially if you have played for
your "home" nation already.- total nonesense, but "Fiji" do look strong.

Some people have mentioned bringing back GB to stop players drifting between the Celtic Nations and England, maybe the same thing could work for the Pacific Isles, i muddled together a Pacific team here:

Imagine a competitive team playing Australia in Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands and Samoa. It would be awesome.

Fully agree, but only what England are doing:
Chase - NZ, Brough - Scotland, McIlorum - Ireland, Ben Harrison - Ireland to name a few that have played for other nations and then become available for England.
This is one area where we should look to copy football, as soon as a player is capped by one nation he shouldnt be able to play for any other!!

I think that you are s t r e t c h i n g a point here, with the obvious exception of Chase and to a lesser extent Brough. McIlorum and Harrison would qualify for England under pretty much any criteria.
