| After the dreadful squad that McNamara named today should he be sacked?
I have always been prepared to give him time but today has been the final straw. The squad is littered with a combination of over the hill players like Peacock and Carvell, very average ones like Wilkin and Jones-Buchanan, out of form players like Cudjoe that even his own fans say should be dropped by his club or players like Sinfield who have failed time and again on the international stage. Indeed many of the players seem to tick all of these boxes and have been picked on name and reputation alone. Peacock is a prime example, I have nothing against Peacock but he has been going downhill for at least 2 seasons and will be even worse in 18 months time. He is the captain though and seems to be a shoe in. McNamara obviously isnt going to change this and/or drop him. We need someone who will come in and make these ruthless decisions and quick.
McNamara seems to be clueless and out of his depth. Indeed he did an awful job at Bradford and was rewarded with the England job. An average player and an even worse coach who needs to be replaced as soon as possible so we can build towards the world cup.

| What two props would you have in to replace Peacock and Carvell with the people we have available? Bearing in mine players who can play prop such as Burgess and Graham are not available for the squad.

| i voted no because he shouldn't be sacked for hes team selection and we did look slightly better at the 4nations last year. but i think he will be sacked after the world cup. if we lose both exile games the rfl wont sack him because they wont want to pay out compo for it.

Lynch should've been in there tbh.

| Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Larne Patrick, Scott Taylor, Chris Hill, Mike Cooper, Paul Prescott (when fit), Liam Watts should all be considered for these games.
Carvell would surely only be a back up player in a full strength squad so why not give a chance to a younger player who is playing just as well but would benefit from more experience at a higher level? Even playing someone who's not quite at that level yet but probably will be by the time the World Cup comes around would be more beneficial.
If some new players are tried but don't quite perform to the expected standard then there's always the option of going back and calling on the experienced players. They aren't likely to become rubbish simply because they don't play the Exiles, France or Wales.
In some cases a break from international rugby and a bit of hunger to get their places back might do some of the older players the world of good.

| All im saying is that if some of these players mentioned were put into the squad, we'd have people moaning about a lack of experience, not taking the exile game seriously etc. Personally i think the games against team such as France are the times for blooding the younger players. However i definatly think Lynch should be in there, he has been Hulls best player this year!

| No.
People have had it in for him from the start. He needs time and the players need to get used to having the same coach in charge and some continuity in the squad.

You need to get out more. You seem suicidal because McNamara hasn't picked your precious Mickey Mac, who's better than Roby, and Darryl 'Meninga' Goulding who makes Jamie Lyon look like an amateur. Sacking the poor man for not picking two, very average, Wigan players you have a wet patch over would be a tad harsh IMO.
It's a squad for the Exiles game FFS. It's a mix of youth, established players and players he wants to have a look at ahead of the more meaningful games. Surely the fact that there are alternatives and people are suggesting 9 or 10 different options is a good thing? England performed pretty well under McNamara so far and I'd like to see who you would suggest as a better option?

| I am not pleased with the squad, but sacking him because of that is ridiculous.

and you seem to think because they haven't been choosen they are average players! 3 times they have walked off the pitch after playing saints and laughed. majority of people have actually said micky mac has been the best hooker this season. also you only have to watch goulding to see he is a natural and is on par with any one in superleague, he may not have the speed or strength of atkins but makes up for it in decision make. or do you think cudjoe has been better than goulding :S?

Saddened I think i maybe going mad but i agree with all of this...It seems we're getting back to the days of "if they wear a Wigan shirt they have to be in the squad" judging by some of their crying of the pie board...
