| Would have preferred a French team away but a weekend in London will have to do, I suppose!

Yes Pro teams in one bag amateurs in another and as there are more pro teams than amateurs a pre draw is done to decide which pro teams go in the same bag as the amateurs. This year it was Leigh and Workington who ended up in the amateur bag.

Your first wish was never on. French teams cannot be drawn at home at this stage of the competition.

Red Hall conspiracy I say .
Just out of interest, if there are two bags, how do they decide who is the home team?

There was a third bag with balls saying 'home' or 'away' on. A team was drawn from bag A (18 semi-pro clubs) and then a ball from the home/away bag to determine whether they would be home or away then the second team was drawn from bag B (amateur & French clubs plus Leigh and Workington)to complete each tie.

| I was at Oulton for the second round to see them against the Army, shame some of the Army side had never played before, going for a drop goal at ten nil down doesn't help the side much

| Not sure I like the seeding. Can't see the harm in there being a few all amatuer ties. There might be a few cricket scores in the next round, but it's likely to happen regardless.
Also, why only 2 French teams at this stage? Didn't there used to be more?

There did. Not sure the exact reasons, but there were rumblings about clubs having to organise travel and time off to get down there. No mention of the reciprocal problem which is hardly exacerbated by banning them from home ties in round 3.
