| what with fev winning the championship yesterday and getting the monkey off their back, who's gonna stop them now from dominating this league for years to come.with darryl powell in charge fev will now get even stronger and i think teams are gonna struggle in the championship to keep up with them. fev are the champions and it was richly deserved, been the best team outside super league for two years now.

What just so you can bore us with your opinions on how there not good enough to be there. They are fine just where they are - big fish in a smaller pond.

Not really. I don't know anything about Featherstone as a club. Unlike Wakefield, they may have a long term future.

| I visited Fev not so long back and saw the plans for the stadium development which IMO are not very good.
They are selling off some land behind the sticks at Post Office Road end which is going to become a housing development. The pitch is going to be moved towards the railway end without moving the current stands and facilities. They have bought two stands from Scarborough AFC and these are being errected to boost the capacity.
Having heard stories from the Scarborough fans it seems as though these stands are already way out of date and will have a short lifespan especially with the move to a new location.
While I commend the efforts by all at Fev to improve their ground and hopefully one day become a SL club these funds that they are spending may have been better spent placing a state of the art single stand at one end of the pitch with the other end being a newly built concrete stepped area as it is now but with the view of improving that end once further finances become available.
I obviously do not know the ins and outs of it all but the plans do not fill me with the confidence that the SL will allow them anywhere near its competition.

It isn't the stadium that will hold back Fev , it is fan base , this year the Championship started with 5 potential winners and clubs with potential to draw in crowds , These being Widnes,Leigh,Fax,Fev and Barrow , along with 2 ' wild card ' clubs in Batley and Sheffield
Next season will not be anywhere near as competitive , we have lost Widnes with no like for like replacement , Barrow will either be ' demoted ' or severely weakened by the salary cap issue , Leigh are currently struggling to survive and next season will be massively down on player spend
So the Next 2 years will be a straight shoot out between Fev and Fax for the main honours with possibly either the Eagles or a John Kear inspired Batley in the mix for one of the NRC s
But even if Fev dominate the comps as I expect them to , I dont see their fan base rising anywhere near enough to make them viable as a SL entry , unfortunate , but just the way it is I'm afraid

The two Scarborough stands aren't way out of date, they just haven't been maintained for a few years. I think they were built in the 1990's, so more modern than the majority of Craven Park.
Re-built, cleaned up, some blue seats put on, they'll look pretty good.

They seem to have some quality players among the team, and play good stuff from the few matches I have seen on the telly.Tom Saxton seems to be doing o.k.,which is good to see as he is an ex F.C. player.

Terrible wasn't it , they suggested they would break even , whereas 75 % of the current SL clubs continued to state they would lose 100s of 1,000s of pounds each year

The Family Stand is modular and will be shunted along so that it is more or less in the same position relative to the pitch as now.
The existing main stand/dressing rooms etc will stay as they are but the sponsors lounge will then overlook the halfway line giving improved corporate facilities.
Ground capacity won't be much greater than now but can be easily increased by the installation of extra crash barriers in the standing area.
And I believe that the plans have been modified so that the housing will now be at the railway end.

The cost of the second hand stands (+moving and errecting them) is considerably cheaper than a single new one and means that the club can afford to make serious improvements to the ground and make it virtually all seater.

Obviously not.
