I see the RFL have done there annual "changed the rules" in mid season trick by exempting crusaders overseas players to other clubs. Is it possible a Superleague club could field a full team of players with not one home grown player in the side.

This is just about the only fair way of doing things at the moment. Not entirely in the spirit of things but you have to be fair on the players, their club obviously wasn't.

Hopefully it will just be for the length of their initial contracts with the Crusaders and not something that sticks with them throughout their career in SL.

They will be exempt for the length of what ever contract they are awarded.

The way I have just read the RFL statement is that if a Crusader Player has say 3 months contract left he could sign for another superleague club for 2 to 3 years and still be exempt from the overseas quota for that length of time, Doesn't seem right to me, could put back the development of home grown talent back a few years.

A ridiculous ruling.

Actually I think it was a sensible and pragmatic ruling (I am going to go and have a lie down after saying that).

Does the ruling only apply to players who were not out of contract at the end of season?

Smells like a rodeo . Their club went wonky . Why should the 'foreign' players be favoured or given exemption ? They signed for Cru under Cru's and the RFL's rules and agenda . If and when they no longer play for Cru then their employment issues are their problem .
Cru appear to have gone breasts up . The problem of employment surely lays at the boots of the players . .

To save all this back pedalling on overseas quotas and its intended targets, why don't they just call the Crusaders the Widnes Vikings, save a lot of hassle.

The only option for those gutted Crusaders players. Twitter is littered with angry players. I didn't give it much thought at first but it's a job and a livelihood isn't it? You hear it from creepy Dick Lewis live on telly that you've lost your job. Jesus, that'd tip me over the edge!

Why should there be new rules to allow them to continue in SL ?
Surely they were aware when they signed up for Cru that their future was not nailed on .

It is a big cruel world out there . The problem should be left on the (icey) steps at of Wrexham with this one .

Anything else . Any other options , especially allowing them to sign off-quota with other teams , would make us a bigger laughing stock than we already are among the sporting fraternity in the UK . .
