| Is anyone willing to swap/borrow/sell any decent rugby league autobiographies?
Failing that, any recommendations for further reading?
I have a few books myself willing to trade if anyone would like to PM.
Cheers

| Possibly unfashionable to say, but Stevo's is worth a read if you haven't read it. Straddles two eras of RL in a way.

| Dave Hadfields is good too. Also features Stevo who is quite entertaining in it.

| Ive got Stevos(Didnt think to much of this one), Mike Gregories, Longs, B McDermotts (I think) and a couple of Lance Armstrongs (I know he isnt RL but still great books to read. Very motivational). I dont suppose you have Wayne Bennets do you.
I've saved Longs(Or my mate has just given it to me!) for my flight to South Africa tomorrow night after watching Quins spank Wigan!

| read Stevos, Barry McDermotts, Sean Longs and Wayne Bennets think there all good and worth a read, there are some differences in style between them. Longs book has bits of comedy and funny stories throughout whereas Bennets is more motivational.
Also read Lee Jacksons but didnt think much of it too be honest.

| After an interview I heard on local radio with John Stankevitch last night I think his book will be tasty.

| I've got The Super League First Ten Years book if you'd like to buy that. It talks about the transition from winter to summer and Sky's influence etc..

| Cheers for the repsonses guys, much appreciated, especially given the probable repetitive nature of the question in the past!
I have read most of the the suggested literature. I am particularly looking at anything like your Wayne Bennetts, Andrew Johns, Mal Reilly's etc. Its the books that seem difficult to get hold of (that cost a kings ransom even second hand on some well known sites!). Looks like it is just a case of dropping on and looking at the League Marketplace.
Wouldnt mind the Andrew JOhns Donnyplumber if your offering?

| Chris Joynt's book is good, so is Alex Murphy's and Ray French has 2 books out that are interesting. Kevin Ward was an enjoyable read as was Vince Karalius book.
Longy's was ok, Newloves was ok, Paul Sculthorpes was very boring, Kris Radlinski was a good read as was Terry Newtons book.

| Willie - The Life and Times of a Rugby League Legend.
Michael Gardners account of Barrow Legend Willie Horne is def the best I've read , not just a RL history but one that gives real flavour of Hornes connection to the Barrow area and its people.
Also cant remember who wrote it or even the title (if anyone could help me out) but there was a 'warts and all ' year in the life of Wigan Rugby ' written about 15 years ago featuring Shaun Edwards , Andy Farrell , Dennis Betts and some illuminating stuff on Bobbie Goulding that is worth looking into.

Funnily enough, I just picked this up at a charity shop last week !!
Its called "Blood,Mud and Glory - The Inside Story of Wigan's Year"
Covers April 1990 - 1991, and details some interesting dynamics between Mo Lindsay, John Monie, Ellery, Andy Greg, Edwards, Andy Goodway, etc. Although I'm a long way from being a Wigan fan, its well worth a read

| Also Matty Johns - From the Sheds (I think) is quite a good book, just gives a few stories on a few players and coaches that he has played with and against

Cheers for that Vernon - could see the cover and everything but not remember the title .Was there not a chapter called 'something rotten in the state of Wigan '?? .
21 years ago - bloody hell I now feel old ! Though actually thinking about it it covered the Cougars visit to Central Park (i was there!) in one of the cups when Wigan winger Dave Marshall picked up a career ending knee cap injury.
