| Interesting to hear about the owner of Hull City dropping a casual £1m into KR, seems a little weird that he has now decided to do it.
KR are building a new stand but it says that he is looking to players and facilities.
Thoughts?

| Strange that he has gone for KR and not FC who share the same ground.

The ground share has nothing to do with the clubs though. It's a council run stadium for the teams in the city of Hull and from what I remember Hull KR were offered tenancy too, only to turn it down.

| The Allams will buy the KC (eventually) and plan to invest heavily including redevelopment, training facilities etc, FC will benefit.
It seems they want to appear fair so have thrown KR a cheeky million. Good news for Rovers and surly anyone pumping money into Rugby League has got to be a good thing.

Good thing, wish we had more of this!

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| On a serious note and even as a fan of Hull KR, it's too early to tell just what this bloke is up to.
He's come from nowhere in the last twelve months to owning Hull City, making very large claims about what he can do for the city's sporting clubs including threatening to move Hull City to a new £100m stadium complex if the council don't sell him the KC.
Nobody just gives away £1m, approach with caution.

Is it for the Stadium? Rovers already have a loan from the council for the Stadium improvements so this Million could and probably will be spent elsewhere.

| He has built his fortune over the last 30 years, you have to ask why he wasn't interested in any of the professional sporting clubs in the nineties when all three were close to going out of business.

The stadium is leased for a nominal (very small) amount. Any successful improvements would net the club a hell of a lot more than the council.
In any case, I believe the funding is secured for the short-term stadium development plans.

Facilities & Infrastructure the acrticle said didn't it? That could mean anything from a boost to the junior set-up, improved training facities, perhaps a start on a South Stand?
It does seem odd that he'd give Hull KR £1m, without some sort of motive other than a gift to sport in the city. Maybe this is to get some support ahead of his bid to buy the KC Stadium, and it's no coincidence he's stepped up his campaign following the local elections.
Something seems fishy ( ) to me, but only time will tell.

I'm guessing rovers either need some cash quick to get the North stand started and strengthen their franchise bid, or are skint and desperate for some cash. Either way, there will be a price to pay some way along the line.
All this talk of sports village developments reminds me of the lloyd era
