www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... attle.html

This could have major ramifications not only for those two clubs mentioned , but also for the Grand Final being played at Old Trafford and also the Challenge cup final at Wembley. It could also affect Huddersfield and Sheffield Eagles if the rules find their way into lower division football as well.

International RL would no longer be allowed at the likes of the DW or KC. Never mind having a desire to move games to bigger venues.

RL fans will need to keep a close eye on how the Premiership react.

Indeed if the soccer authorities try to pass this rule, then RL fans would need to start lobbying parliament

After all Hulls KC was built with public money as a multi use community stadium.

Wigans DW or JJB as it was formerly known also had some council investment in it.
Huddersfields ground is i understand 1/3rd owned by the council.

The biggest one of the lot would be Wembley which was built as the so called National Stadium at huge expense, but it now appears as if Football just want it for themselves.

Sounds absolutely awesome. Can they bring it in just in time for the franchise applications to be looked at? No stadium to play at = FAIL! Fingers crossed.

So Wigan are out. I'd let Hull stay as I like them.

But a serious point in all this is that the planning permission would never in a million years be granted for new stadium sights with single use plans. Won't happen. Having multi-use aspects is one of the only reasons those stadiums were built in the first place.

I hate soccer at times like this, correction, i hate soccer full stop.
I can't wait for them to try and push this through only to get told where to get off.

And let's see how they make up the earnings from the 15 or so extra times a year the stadia are used and the income (rent, percentage of food/drink sales etc.) that a 'ban' on other sports would have. Not that I think it will happen. And on Wembley, aren't 'we' (the RFL) some kind of partner in it?

When blaming Rugby League for the state of the pitch, of course, Sale is talking a load of rollocks...look at Headingley, where League hasn't buggered it up, nor the Piedome, where the worn areas are in the middle, where the footballers mainly play. Funny that.

I can't help but think there will be a contract in place for events like the CC Final. You don't just host it at Wembley on a verbal agreement thats its okay and I doubt very much the FA would have the power to rewrite contracts. Wembley isn't the major talking point here. One league game isn't going to have a big effect unless it's an absolute washout, which is rare as most finals have taken place in glorious sunshine.

I can't see anything coming of it. All that might happen is Premier League clubs are given stricter guidelines for the quality of their pitch and it might force them to relay it more often.

T*****S. the KC pitch is perfect at the end of SL season. The KC belongs to the people of Hull so the Premier League and Hull City need to be looking for another venue for next season(if they dont get relegated)

This overlooks the fact that the stadia are owned by third parties with whom the various clubs have long term leases (seem to remember that Wigan's is 99 years). Either sloppy journalism or the Premier League looking at ways to exclude clubs that it doesn't want in its nice, shiny competition.

I'm sure most clubs don't use grounds on the basis of a verbal agreement either, not just Wembley. I think Hull FC have a 90+ year agreement (but I'm ready to be corrected).

Edit - In addition - the KC pitch looks fine.

Chelsea palyed most of the season on an abysmal pitch a few years ago. Nothing was said. This is more to do with a way of the clique that is the Premier League finding a way to expel clubs like Wigan Athletic and Hull City and to prevent them being able to get back in. The PL doesn't care about RL enough to want to evict our clubs. It just gives them a way to eject clubs like Wigan Athletic that don't put as much in their coffers but that seem to avoid relegation each year so can't be dumped under current rules.

don't think HFC have much to worry about given the Tigers performances. The pitch is the least of their worries!

Wembley should be unaffected, they've layed tarmac at pitch level in the past so a league game isn't going to affect it. Besides they over spent so much they need every single event going to make it viable.

I don't know about Wigan but in the case of the KC it will be Hull City who are put in a worse position than FC. It is a council owned stadium and we have a 99 year lease of the ground (or we did when it was built, will be about 92 now). This means either it's up to City to find somewhere else to play or they have to give us some very hefty compensation. And they don't have the money to do either.

Besides, it won't be an issue at all when they go down next month.
