having made some strides forward in 2009, it seems the RFL are determined to make England a laughing stock again.

We need a top class coach from overseas. Look what its has done for Hudds, Wire and Wigan.

Sorry to Hudds fans but I would love for Nathen Brown to get the England job.

Brown will be over here to try and enhance his reputation to get another gig in the NRL in the future. Coachign England will not help him achieve that goal at all IMO. He'd be better finishing the job he's started at Huddersfield.

What constitutes finishing the job?

But who else is there? It's worrying really. I think the appointment of Kear would probably be met better than most, but Kear is known for hard working teams that grind out results, is that what England needs?

I didn't know Betts was in RU until then, but we're looking at Ford, Edwards, Betts when they've left league to join union, would union look to league for coaches?

The problem with England is there are too few games to warrant a top quality coach to do it full time, as he's wasting his time and ability for months of the year. The whole structure needs looking at, regular meets, training, better friendlies/fixtures to make the England job more attractive, because at the moment, sadly, it's not.

Seeing out his contract, making more finals and perhaps even lifting a trophy.

I'd let brown do both jobs, why we need a full time coach for 4/5 games a year is beyond me.

How many RL coaches has RU got? A fair few at least, especially as defensive coaches

I think you've answered your own question there.

Brown has many question marks over him IMO. He's made the Giants solid enough, giving them a ruthless defense and making them play the game a certain way to make them hard to beat. But despite showing promise in the CC semi last year the Giants don't seem to have kicked on this year. They've lost all the big games this season so far and against Saints at the weekend they were far too concerned with slowing the play the ball when they should have been trying to ensure a quick game to utilise their faster backs.

Why don't you apply for the England job - you appear to be all knowing?

Ok, I probably didn't word it well enough. I meant for the England RU international job. Would they look at current RL coaches?

We didn't play as well as we could have yesterday and had too many chiefs and not enough indians on the pitch IMO, including a new half back who the rest of the side are going to have to get used to. We've beaten Leeds and Bradford, both of which are big games. We've absolutely pumped Wakefield and easily beaten Rovers in their own back yards.

The season is only 8 games in but IMO we are clearly a more potent attacking side this season. There are no question marks over Brown as far as I'm concerned.
