Barry McKenzie has never been to watch a Harlequins RL match. And having spoken to people who HAVE been he intends to keep it that way.
However a quick squizz at the latest figures for the club make pretty depressing reading if you are one of the handful of people who actually go along at watch them play.
Falling crowds, a coach who genuinely doesnt seem to have a clue, no one in London really caring about RL, no big name players, failure to capture the London publics attention despite forming as an entity in 1980 ... the future looks bleak.
Barry McKenzie thinks it's probably time to gently lead this dead horse of a Rugby League club out into a distant field somewhere just off the M25 and pop a cap into it's skull to put it out of its misery once and for all.
However the future of Rugby League in London may not be a total loss.
Amongst some of the amateur (and I'm not talking Quins RL on this occasion) clubs one springs forward...like a burning light of hope through the damp dark mists of the south east of England.

Check these guys out.
More passion (and I would suggest a better class of footy) than you will ever find down 'The Moon'
Who knows... maybe you will see Barry McKenzie pulling on a green and gold jumper if you come along and watch the mighty Hoists

More of a tragedy than having televised matches from our elite competition, playing in front of crowds of barely 3,000?

Which will go to 4000 when you scousers arrive in SL accompanied by the usual violence I have witnessed on every occasion I have visited the Halton stadium
BM- What do you know about RL in this country. Get back to your backwater country. If the basis of success was solely formed on crowds, within the last ten years if we take 5000 as the threshold we wouldnt have Warrington(Wilderspool days), Widnes, Salford, Cas, Wakey,Hudds to name a few. If Maureen Lindsey had his way they wouldnt exists.
Maybe the NRL should get rid of the Sharks for having the worst crowd.

Widnes will more than double your average attendence when they replace you in SL. As for the voilence, never seen any in my 20+ years visiting widnes for away games.

I have, but then I've also been plenty of times and not seen violence there.

| Whether the team perform or not on the field doesn't seem to bother the RFL. According to rlthisrl they're doing things at grass roots and are 'trying' so that should be good enough not to be axed at the next round of license hand-outs.

I tend to have more respect for the opinions of critics who have seen the product they are reviewing that those that haven't... just my view of course

| There's nothing wrong with our ground, stop calling it the Moon.
No one else has ever called it that apart from you.
It's annoying.

Why is it that your almost orgasmic at the thought of Quins going out of business? Its a sad day when any RL team fold in my opinion.
Why don't you just fook off back to where you came from.

Slags the club off for low crowds, yet fully admits never having been despite living in London.

Indeed, a troll who refers to himself in the third person as serious issues.
