| Unlucky tonight. I was v proud of England tonight. They really matched them, toe to toe. I know that might sound stupid, cos the scoreline reflects a different one sided game.
For me, the game changed when Shenton got knocked out. It was 16-22. When he got carried off, England then conceded 5 tries, 4 of them down the right hand side. The 5th down the left....well, we'd given up by then. I'm not saying Shenton is a super defender, i just think we were disorganised when he left the field at the result of a reshuffle.
There is not a 30 point margin between them 2 teams. Credit to the Aussies. They scored some amazing try's.

| You appear to be living in a dream world. Another pasting by the Aussies.
English RL is a joke...................and that doesn't mean I am happy about it, just fed up watching 37 years of losers.

A dream world? We were neck & neck 3/4's of the way in. Yes, i know you have to play the full 80,but after the injury we imploded. We see it in club games, a few things go against you, then suddenly they get a good roll on,and you end up with a one sided scoreline ie. We're in there 30, Tomkins can't get up to play the ball. He's eventually released but shoved down to the ground. Instead of being awarded a penalty,a knock on is given against him. Australia then score from that set of six. At that point it was still anyone's game. Its that easy how a game can turn. The right decision should have been a penalty, who knows what England could have done from that.
So to call a team (that beat the World champs last week) a bunch of losers is unfair.

Perfectly true, yet again don't the poms ALWAYS live in a dreamworld at sport.
Tony Smith playing 4 front rowers in the side, you cant imagine anything more idiotic than that....4 carthorses against the Greyhounds, something had to give, and it did.

Bollocks mate. Burgess was exceptional tonight, and really stood out. To say he's just a front rower is a bit short sighted. He took his 2 trys beautifully, including a lovely dummy on Slater for the 1st. He's not a big charging lump like your no.8, he can play a bit of rugby.
And Peacock as played many years in the 2nd row/loose forward position-even winning MOS there, before switching to prop.
Well done on another win.

Oh, and just to add, we might live in a dream world at sport, but RL is 1 of a v few sports you Aussies are doing well in. Your footy is crap, your not world champs at cricket (thanks for the Ashes too), or rugby union either....oh hold on. You're not world champs in rugby league either....i thought u lot were great at everything?

| Great test match for 60 min.
I think England will be better for it. I really like the look of Tomkins and Eastwood. Just need to get some match winners in the backs and things might be different.
However in saying that Australia really went into overdrive in the last 20 min showing some great skill in attack.
Slater is a freak. And how good was Cam Smith tonight.
One thing i have to say though is that I really struggle to listen to Bill Arthur on Sky. He would be the most biased commentator on TV. He is struggled to compliment the skills that were on show tonight and acknowledge that England will be better and improve over the next few years with some great kids coming the ranks.
Brian Carney showed what a champion he is with great insight into the skills of the Kangaroos and also knowing that England played a very good game tonight. The final score is no reflection of how close this test match was.

| Shenton's side of the field has been solid. The scoreline tonight should say that it was a real game and it was anyone's to win until the last 15 minutes or so when Shenny went off.

What a load of codswallop, ifyou are proud of Englands performance last night, then you are very easily pleased, from your post I presume you meant that you were proud because you didn't get belted by 60 points.
And the injury to Shenton did NOTHING to the score line, you poms just want to use anything as an excuse for the perpetual hidings that you get fromthe Aussies, and have done for more than 37 years, and if you don't change your style of play, the NEXT 37 years.....and talking about giving up,that is what Australia did at halftime when we beat you by 10 points because we can nailyou by 40 or50 anytime we want,ANYTIME.

A lot greater than you shower at most sports,Tiddley-winks Curling and snooker are about the only sports we cant beat you at,...dont forget we beat you at soccer the last time we met,and that is the yardstick we must go by,...don't say "itwas only a friendly"there is never anything friendly between Australia & England at sport.and just wait for the Commonwealth games results, boy o boy will you take yet another slugging there.
46-16 dont forget it EASY VERY EASY.

It is stupid and it was one sided for the last 20 minutes VERY onesided.
46-16..well I call it one-sided.
And dont forget we had our first try disallowed and many officials disagreed with that,it was a very debatable point.

I was very proud of England for 60 minutes when they matched them toe to toe. For the last 20 minutes, though, I was very embarrassed by England because they capitulated. They decided not to bother defending anymore but instead opted for the easy course of letting their backline run riot. I hope the boys are proud of that because I wasn't. I'd frozen by butt off for over three hours and cheered my head off each time they scored, looked close to scoring (a number of times) and defended well. At least they could have lost with dignity.

And don't forget that Slater had a clear knock on given as a try, so things balance out.
What you're whinging about when you actually won I have no idea. But you Aussies whinge at anything and everything.
