After the derby matches being either sold out or close to it since there return in 2007 it would seem the bubble ahs now burst.

This morning Hull FC handed back over 900 from an allocation of 1,500 tickets for the souths stand at Craven park. The south stand is the one that is a long way from pitch and very little elevation and FC fans are charged £17 at other matches it is £10.

The main reason given by FC supporters is that stand and the price charged. I know KR supporters will say its because the team is doing badly which does not seem to be correct when we took over 2.3k to Cas and we will be going to KR with less then 600.

The 900 tickets will remain unsold and KR have over 100 tickets left as well, the pubs in Hull will be busy Saturday night anyway.

If Hull were 4th and Rovers near the bottom you would have snapped up all 1500 tickets regardless of the view so dont make out you are all up on your high horses now

If KR are charging £17 when they routinely charge £10 for the same view, then there is a serious issue here regarding the conduct of Hull KR (and having experienced their "customer service" first hand, I personally aren't surprised).

If their excuse is that for the other 13 games of the season, £10 is a "promotional price", then a reminder of the regulations regarding the advertising of promotions is required.

Thats is exactly how it works. The actual price for the stand is £17 but all other away teams are offered a discount and pay £10.

Not very clever either given that, according to the original poster it's cost them approximately £4,800 plus any additional revenue from programmes, food, etc.

For starters, I'd be surprised if RFL regulations allowed that.

Secondly, (IIRC) it is illegal to advertise a "promotional price" for a period of more that 28 consecutive days and for a price to be considered a "promotion" it must be have been sold at a higher price for a period of at least 28 days.

An interesting one for Trading Standards I'd have thought.
