| Forum,
French league continues to struggle, lyon don`t want play in the elite comp next yr, financial difficulties and player depth are major problems but they will see out the yr, they recently went to lezignan and lost 100-0. They only had 12 players and two of them were playing injured. They must be congratulated for playing .
That can`t be said about St gaudens, they forfaited against lyon and the reason was that(apparently) they couldn`t find a bus to transport the players. Of course this was all lies and there has been wide spread condemnation of st gaudens and their behaviour from their own players and supportes. The players wanted to drive themselves there to play but not one official turned up to help them.
St gaudens players haven`t been paid since october either, and the real reason for this behaviour is that the st gaudens officials are still filthy with the federation for some big fines and suspensions after they verbally and physically abused a referee.
Toulouse want to sign borlin a front rower from st gaudens who will be handy for them and has apparently agreed but the president of st g is blocking this only out of spite with his war with zalduendo.
If st gaudens go under with lyon this will leave the french "elite" comp with 8 teams.
A sorry state of affaires here and with the dragons struggling also there`s not much good news.

The Dragons are struggling only because of the terrible choice of a coach they made. Along with the incompetent coach came the worthless second division scrum half Shane Perry.
Lyon is too important to be lost. The RLIF needs to invest some of its World Cup money in order to save the region.

Yes indeed.
Graham Murray is next cab off the rank if and when Bobby Goulding fails.
But the reorganisation of the Lyon club is what is needed urgently. There is money available from the government, but Lyon-Villeurbane needs new management to take advantage of it, for the good of the club rather than for themselves.

Are you a union fan by any chance? Anything interesting or positive to balance it with? or is RL in France just 100% negative to you.

Tre cool,
I don`t believe that by stating what is actually happening on the ground here that you could assume that i am negative. I would love to tell you some good news stories but at the moment there isn`t any. Imagine if this was happening in england how would you report it, of course you would have a negative tone because its not good for the game.
So please , spare me from your high horse , i am on the ground here and have been for a while ,people are fed up with with how things just seem to be always going backwards.
The facts are that the game here is played in small villages run by some old people with nothing else to do and followed by a handfull of supporters that can still remember when the french side was greeted at mille with a ticket tape parade after they won the world cup.
Give me some ideas on what you think should be done here to find sponsors and to create interest in the game.?

If you're a Rugby League fan im a dutchman. You quite clearly have no respect for RL in France; despite its obvious weaknesses there is a lot to love about French RL and too many positives for a real fan to speak of the game there in such a derisory way. Go and troll elsewhere.

Won't happen. One of them wil stay in place and TO will field a side in the LER (it will be a rubbish side but it will be there) so the comp will stay at 10. Possibly one less side to spread the talent will help the comp keep its level up.
